Are there any over the counter supplements used to replenish Serotonin?!

Question: I've taken everything, both natural and chemical with no luck. Then I read about SAMe, pronounced "sammy". It's a natural amino acid. It works wonders with depression and anxiety, and helps promote a positive mood. It works quickly, and other countries use it as a prescribed medication, that is highly desired. You can get it at Kroger in the vitamin section. It's in a box. Get the one that says "stress formula" because it has B vitamins with it. It's about $16.00.

Tryptophan, 5-HTP, and Melatonin all work to support, balance, and/or increase Serotonin. I would suggest only trying one at a time because if you get too much of an increase in Serotonin, it can keep you up all night. If you haven't taken products like this before, it would be best to consult a doctor who knows about these or is at least willing to keep an eye on your Serotonin level. Good luck!

5-HTP. I wouldn't just start messing with serotonin levels in the brain unless recommended by a doctor.

n-acetyl l-tyrosine is a good one, however you shouldn't take any serotogenic supplement without consulting your doctor first.
