Lavender is good for relaxation.....I put a few drops on a cotton ball and place it next to my pillow at night. Take a warm bath with lavender too (if the smell isn't too much for you). Also, don't watch tv in bed and avoid anything stimulating before going to bed (this includes tv, eating, or exercise)

Melatonin supplements or Valerian Root (I found both at Wal-Mart)

Melatonin

Insomnia, headaches and migraines, digestive troubles and constipation, achy bones and moodiness and irritability are all symptoms of calcium deficiency. For calcium to be effectively absorbed it is essential for the human body to have sufficient supplies of vitamin D (the sunshine vitamin)

Sooooo eat more calcium rich foods ie ~ leafy and green vegies, cold water fishes such as sardines and salmon, sunflower seeds, walnuts, peanuts, dried beans , kale, broccoli and collard greens.

Eat more foods rich in vitamin D too ie ~ fish oils and cold water fishes such as salmon..... or simply get 10 - 15 minutes of safe sun exposure daily.

Carbonated drinks ie ~ sodas and soft drinks and antacids such as Mylanta will rob you of your precious calcium supplies ? With carbonated drinks they leach the calcium from our bones.

Calcium is needed in our bodies to maintain strong bones and healthy teeth, to keep your heart beating regularly, help metabolize your body's iron and aiding your nervous system with impulse transmissions.

Pump up you fresh filtered water intake too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one ?

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) and Vitamin B3 (Niacin) work together to produce the brain chemical serotonin, which is essential for restful REM sleep, so take a multi B complex supplement that includes all the B's at least 2 - 3 hours before bedtime, ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12...... do not buy any of the B complex of vitamins individually unless under instructions from a qualified practitioner or naturopath as the B complex all work best as a group.

Have a soothing cup of organic loose leaf chamomile tea ~ this could be the sleep remedy you need too?

For more difficult insomnia, try 1mg of melatonin sublingually (dissolved under the tongue) 15 minutes before bedtime?any good health food store will be able to provide you with all these things?

Naturally resolving the problem will always be the best way .... :0)

please take care of you ?

I am currently on a program that has me sleeping so sound, it is amazing. Have you tried liquid vitamins?

These are good answers. I just want to add, Don't eat peanuts or peanut butter. This is a good source of fungus and can cause a hole gamete of problems. There is Evan a strong chance you have a fungal infection all ready.
Trouble sleeping can be caused by a number of things even fungus.

Valerian and 5-HTP are supposed to help and further natural remedies can be found in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

Chamomile tea(w/milk)., few drops of Lavender oil on your pillow and meditation and deep breathing before you go to sleep, Valerian root, and Melatonin-CAREFUL with mixing all these together though, just because their natural doesnt mean they won't interact

Dr. Oz was just on Oprah today talking about this and he was saying to wake-up a the same time every morning, say you wake up at 7, even if you've had 3 hours sleep the night before still wake-up at that time, by the time bedtime comes around you'll be tired and get back on track, and NO caffiene after noon as it still lingers in your system....also after u go to bed-if you can't sleep within 15 min and your tossing and turning, get up and do something relxing(read) always works for me!!

mary-jane. :)

I drink a tea from YOGA called bedtime.. works for me.. I relax with something special that I love to watch or read at nite to settle me down before I go to bed. best of luck ..

1)Damiana as a tea (a couple tablespoons) or you can smoke it, it's very calming and relaxing and you might feel "high," it's also an aphrodisiac
2)Valerian (2 tsp) as a tea, this is a very popular herb for sleeping
3)Mulberry leaf tea
