What does marijuana do to you?!

Question: I've never done drugs of any sort, but am curious as to why so many people feel the need to smoke weed. Why is the feeling so desirable? What are its health effects, on a short and long term scale?

When I was doing this, I didn't think anything of it. I have been drug free for the last 11 years, and looking back I see the changes.

Short term effects are stupidity (trust me, I've been there and know the decisions I made...you think everything is so funny)

Long term:
Number one, I have asthma when I never had it before and am no longer around smoke at all. I have allergies now too, and I never had them before.
Number two, I have heart murmurs that were never there before.
Number three, I am only 34 and I can not remember anything at all. There are periods of my life that are just gone. I also have a hard time concetrating.

I used to be so quick with math, I didn't even need paper, I just did it in my head. Now, I have to have the calculator and think everything out, especially if I am working on general ledger accounts and trying to trace back mistakes.

The desire?? You don't have to deal with your life or find solutions to your problems, everything is swept under a rug. In my experience, you eventually have to deal anyway, the problems are just bigger by the time you actually face them.

it gets you high!! you think you're all i dunno happy. if you do it a lot you might get a lil off track.

it relaxes you. it's pretty much a complete relaxation of body and mind. and it makes food taste better, and things funnier and less serious. those are probably the main reasons.
smoking weed will cause a person to have lung/mucus problems similar to smoking cigarettes, or smoking anything for that matter. it kills brain cells, basically dulls the brain and senses after awhile. however, pretty much all of these effects are reversible. after about a month-2months of not using, depending on how heavy the usage is. long term - like i said, not much. it's a relatively safe drug, just dulls the mind - exactly what we don't want to happen to the youth of this world.

Over time it turns you into a mindless zombie, that's why they call it DOPE DOPE DOPE DOPE DOPE DOPE

high

If there was a classification of "safe" drugs, marijuana would top the list.
As far as the desire, America has a way of making anything illegal that can not be taxed. For instance, there is no drug problem in Holland because it is legal and there is no "taboo" or excitment from breaking a law. There are two types of potheads who would like to have some reform on drug laws:

1: people who smoke to alleviate some sort of ailment due to some disease or sickness,
2: people who just like to get high.

Since it is considered a hallucinagen, I couldn't tell you how it would effect a person specifically. And that's another reason why it is illegal, some people relax and other people go crazy when they get high.

Woah, that was way longer than i thought.

I cant say what it does for other people but for me the stuff sucks. If someone is around me smoking it I have a severe sneezing attack followed by an asthma attack.Apparently of all the things a person can be allergic to I am allergic to POT!!

it relaxes u makes u laugh and be happy and it helps deal wit problems but i dont believe in any other drugs and i dont consider weed a drug and u can not die from it

it makes you stupid and fat...
