If the mind can affect healing, can it, with the right focus, heal anything?!

Question: Every doctors acknowledges the mind affects the healing, to some degree. The placebo affect cannot be denied. Doesn't that mean that the all-powerful mind can heal any illness?

I believe it can. But not with the right focus, with the right...faith. They are now growing body parts in labs. What is now impossible will soon be the norm. It's the mind + faith that set out to figure out how to accomplish these "miracles".

As for the first answer, I disagree. They are cases out there of people whose faith has healed them of cancer, aids, and other "incurable" illnesses. If you believe it when the doctor says "incurable" you are signing your own death sentence. It's about what the subconscious accepts and sets off to carry out. The trick is how to acquire that "faith", how to belive you can be healed, how to stop the blocks that cause you to not believe.

check out Louise Hay's first book "Heal Your Body," referred to as the little blue book and published in 1976 was expanded in 1988 and has been translated into 25 different languages in 33 countries. It was a breakthrough book discussing the connection between the body and the mind. The concept that you could "think yourself well" was pretty much unheard of at the time.

I would say the best book by far is Sondra Ray's. She talks about the blocks to healing and the subconscious holding on to payoffs of being sick. Of course since consciously we cannot see this, most of us are in denial. Few of us can accept that we hold the power of life or death in our own hands, of sickness or wellness. The trick is to unlock the subconscious. And Sondra gives techniques in that book to do so. It's awesome!

Besides the links below I also recommend Bernie Siegel's books for more on the topic. Though the ones below I"ve worked with and they will floor anyone who tries the concepts.

Sure! I'm a Reiki Healer and I've seen some amazing results from healing. I've had people's hearing restored, bones have been healed without being casted (but you must make sure the bone does not need to be set first), minor cuts and burns are healed, sprains heal overnight. Migraines disappear instantly. Toothaches/infections heal instantly. If you really look at medical journals and such, you will find that the body actually does heal itself. We have total cellular replacement within each year, with bones taking the longest to replace and regenerate. So, the body you have now it literally not the body you had seven years ago. And that is why drug screenings are now being done on hair - dead cells and they CAN and DO go back 7 years for drug screenings now.

I have written on this subject on the net.

answer is yes

Psychologically, yes . Say after the surgery , you are in healing process , if you really believe you are healing quicker than the average healing time frame for that disease , you will be more likely to. However , from what I have learnt ( I am a medical student ) , there are researches this , and so far the colleration between the mind and healing process is low . Most of the time, when a newly recovered patient who believed that he was healing quicker than other patients with the same disease , it is most likely because his immune system and organs recovered were in a healthier conditions before the surgery /or the beginning of treatment. It is different for everyone.
Physically , I am afraid not. For example, severe bleeding needs immediate attention , blood pressure will fall and push one into coma and possible death.

However , personally I believe in the power of the mind and miracles happen within the walls of hospital. Medicine can not explain everything. Say if a life-threatening diseased child whom the doctors gave up on just suddenly gets all better , I wonder if this is power of the child's mind or something else that no human would know
.

If you ask me personally, yes, I am spiritual and believe in things that medicine can not diagnose.

very intelligent question! yes with "mind over matter" I think the mind can cure anything.

Dude, don't get me started! yes, the mind can heal anything! People don't give the mind credit. They only believe the mind can hurt us and make us ill-but i guess they didn't do they're research on the yin and yang (everything goes together). The mind produces both good AND bad. Only if the world knew what the mind could actually do, for the good.

I'm a big believer in the placebo effect, I also think that having a positive mental outlook can just about cure anything. I don't really mean serious illness such as cancer, although being positive obviously help..but I do believe that you can override some mental health issues with your mind..it's capable of so much, yet we use so very little.
