Let me clue you in about a myth that is very widely accepted. MANY DRUGS DO NOT FORM CHEMICAL/BODILY ADDICTIONS. Included are > Marijuana, Mushrooms, LSD, Cocaine(not joking), Cocaine gets you addicted to the high, not the chemical, AKA mental addiction. People that take illegal drugs have opened their mind to different perspectives. Not everyone that does drugs is a "lost" teenager either. You would be surprised who is doing drugs in your community. The powerful and rich bussinessman, the lawyers, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, many people do drugs that you would never think twice about because of their social status. Also marijuana, which is the most used drug by people between the ages of 15-25, has no risk of overdose, and bodily effects are less severe than those of cigarettes and alcohol. There has not between 1 death directly related to marijuana induced death. Driving under the influence is the only danger from smoking marijuana. Another reason drugs are still abused today is because its easy to get away with as suburbs are rapidly becoming larger, causing drugs to be available at all times anywhere with a medium-large suburban population. Times change bud old habits do not.

For many, it's an addiction or habit they cannot stop.
Many reasons. For one they arent as bad as everybody has been brainwashed to think. They are addicting. They are fun. They expand the mind.
To find some happiness is this miserable world.
Because they exclude the terrible world we live in.

Because they aren't really as dangerous as people make them out to be if you know what you're doing (the purity of your drugs, and the dosage you need etc). Most of them aren't anyway. There are exceptions.
And it feels good.
Heroin, for example, has a bad reputation but in actuality alcohol is far more toxic.
Marijuana has never killed a single soul, ever.
Not everybody has an easy life, and not everyone is equipped to deal with things in better ways. And sometimes, that is all that works.
Name one person that has died directly from marijuana use.

Some do drugs because of addiction, most as a recreational activity; a way of unwinding at the end of the day/week.

The question should be, "why are drugs illegal?", especially in such an arbitrary fashion.
Because it makes them feel good.
they are a temporary release, they give people something to do, addiction. some people just don't care about the effect it does on the body, as long as it makes them happy, thats all they care about at the time.
get educated you fool, just because the government tells you something doesnt mean its true. people take drugs for the same reasons they have since the beginning of mankind.
cause once your addicted to anything, theres no reasoning. It just goes to prove what the bible says: that the body wants things that will kill us. Also people use drugs to escape pain in their lives.
What about percription drugs? People can abuse them, have bad side effects and die from them too. Tons of people take percription drugs that don't even have a percription for them does that make it ok just because they are legal? Drugs that are illegal where you live might be allowed in other places so its hard to say.

because there fun and something to make the world seem better and temporarely take any troubles away. oh and the government is actually making tons off money from the drug industry and but act like there discouraging it. (even though most of them really arent as bad as are set out to be, weed.shrooms. acid, and certain pills are mostly harmless as long as you with some people who wont let you go and kill yourself if something goes wrong")

Sometimes they work, for example Marijuana contains THC which acts as a painkiller with no side effects. Our government still considers this illegal because they think it's a harmful drug. In reality it isn't, because there have been too many false studies. Look up marijuana facts on google, and educate yourself about the benefits.
Other hard drugs such as cocaine, heroin, meth or painkiller pills...come with horrible side effects. These should be banned because they can mess up a persons brain really bad.
The only exception for illegal drugs is marijuana. Search more about marijuana. Analyze and Interpret.

just because the law says it's bad doesn't really mean it's bad. Drugs don't hurt people, uneducated people kill people.
because not everyone one is right. what are illegal drugs today was medicine at one time in history. marijuana has been medicine for 5,000 yrs. that we know of, it has only been illegal for what 4o yrs.because some people are bigots an money hungry, mainly bigots.
