What are some good home remedies,?!

Question: for sleep. I just can't seem to fall asleep at night even though I feel good and tired. I've been taking someover the counter sleep meds but don't want to be dependant on them for a good nights rest. How to do you fall asleep at night?

You can check these home-remedies too:

I usually sleep pretty well, but when I just can't get to bed I have a bottle of valerian root in the fridge; it's a homeopathic herb that calms you down. After the valerian root I usually have a hot cup of chamomile tea with lemon balm and listen to some music--calming music; no metal before bed ;)

On another note, are you exercising during the day? This might help wear you out a bit before sleeping.

Good luck and sweet dreams!

its probably sounds stupid but i make a story up in my head and get into all the details and before u know it im fast asleep.

I smoke pot. I honestly truly think it's a miracle drug. A cure-all, if you will.

My mum used to have this problem. At one time she did become completely dependent on pills to help her sleep. She tried many things but she says yoga helped her the most. She used to do 20 minutes session in the morning and evening. And now she just sleeps naturally. This might help you if yours is not caused by some underlying physiological problem though I have heard that yoga even helps with that. Hope this helps. Sweet dreams.

watch the movie "The New World" if your not asleep in thirty minutes your some kind of miracle.

Insomnia, headaches and migraines, digestive troubles and constipation, achy bones and moodiness and irritability are all symptoms of calcium deficiency. For calcium to be effectively absorbed it is essential for the human body to have sufficient supplies of vitamin D (the sunshine vitamin)

Sooooo eat more calcium rich foods ie ~ leafy and green vegies, cold water fishes such as sardines and salmon, sunflower seeds, walnuts, peanuts, dried beans , kale, broccoli and collard greens.

Eat more foods rich in vitamin D too ie ~ fish oils and cold water fishes such as salmon..... or simply get 10 - 15 minutes of safe sun exposure daily.

Carbonated drinks ie ~ sodas and soft drinks and antacids such as Mylanta will rob you of your precious calcium supplies ? With carbonated drinks they leach the calcium from our bones.

Calcium is needed in our bodies to maintain strong bones and healthy teeth, to keep your heart beating regularly, help metabolize your body's iron and aiding your nervous system with impulse transmissions.

Pump up you fresh filtered water intake too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one ?

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) and Vitamin B3 (Niacin) work together to produce the brain chemical serotonin, which is essential for restful REM sleep, so take a multi B complex supplement that includes all the B's at least 2 - 3 hours before bedtime, ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12...... do not buy any of the B complex of vitamins individually unless under instructions from a qualified practitioner or naturopath as the B complex all work best as a group.

Have a soothing cup of organic loose leaf chamomile tea ~ this could be the sleep remedy you need too?

Try putting a few drops of pure essential oil into a warm bath and soak your frazzled nerves for 20minutes ?

For more difficult insomnia, try 1mg of melatonin sublingually (dissolved under the tongue) 15 minutes before bedtime?any good health food store will be able to provide you with all these things?

Naturally resolving the problem will always be the best way .... :0)

please take care of you ?

Sweet dreams?

CHEERS
?

A scientific study found that milk and other dairy products are a good source of an amino acid (Triptopan) which is converted by our brain into Melatonin and Serotonin that are needed for sleep. Drink a glass of milk (worm or cold) before you go to sleep. The milk doesn't have to be white. Flavored milk, hot chocolate or a bowl of cereal will work fine.

Or you can use a specially maid Lavender pillow or just put a sachet full of Lavender under your pillow. You can also spray the room, add a few drops while you wash your sheets, or apply body lotion containing Lavender smell. Using Lavender Aromatherapy improves sleep

Learn to relax try soothing music..Some times insomia is a sign of other problems .See your doctor soon
