Epsom Salts Laxative Potency.?!


Question: Hi, I've been wondering about using Epson Salts as a laxative and was wondering, How much to take, How long till they work and How potent are the results (As in, if your out shopping, can you hold on or is it too explosive).

trouble with Epsom salts is that they will have an explosive affect buddy and you really should stay home after having them as you could never pinpoint with any real accuracy when they were going to have effect ? i wouldn't risk going out for at least 3 hours ................. then again you could always just eat more foods rich in magnesium like leafy greens, wholegrain breads and cereals, tuna, sardines, salmon and pump up your water intake and cut back on caffeine and sodas ....... oh, also, are you sure that you don't have any food allergies such as lactose intolerance?? lactose intolerance will produce constipation .............. pump up your intake of leafy greens and cold water fishes as these are also rich in calcium and ditch the milk and dairy for a few days and see if that makes a difference......... ;0)

put 1 teaspoon of baking soda into a mug and fill with water, mix up and drink up ......... be prepared to belch loudly and you should have a movement within the half hour ........ this is only a temporary measure though and you really do need to try to eat better or pinpoint food allergies hun ?

    • I use epsom salts in my liver cleansing. My dosage is 1 rounded tablespoon melted in 1/2 cup very hot water but taken at room temperature. This is repeated 2 hours after. Diarrhea usually occurs within 2-4 hours after ingestion and it is explosive like castor oil. You simply should not risk going out when you are taking it. It is really LBM. Take note also that we don't eat or drink anything 4 hours before taking the epsom salt because this will make you feel nauseated/sick. Surf for liver cleansing by Hulda Regehr Klark, M.D.
    haha....I remember doing this my sophmore year trying to make 119 for a wrestling tournament.

    Well, I took at about 6 in the morning and then went to school and was back home by 2nd period around 11:00.

    It is explosive and holding it in is a terrible feeling. But yea like everyone said before, it's pretty hard to gauge when it'll take affect. Just set aside a few hours so you can safe.
