Can somebody help my friend, please?!

Question: The skin on one foot (only) is
flaking off in layers. It itches her awfully. It cracks and bleeds. She has been to 3 MDs and 1 Dermatologist and all they do is give her steroid creams and shots.
It's not poison oak or ivy. Noone will take a sample and
test it. She must work on her feet all day and her foot is
all swollen.
I know a lot about alternative
meds but can't come up with
anything. What about Tree Tea Oil? your help is greatly appreciated!

Tea tree oil is only recommended for use on very small areas of skin hun ......... if your friend's skin is cracked and bleeding i wouldn't risk the tea tree oil possibly burning and irritating it ?

As far as the swelling goes, perhaps she is having an allergic reaction to any of the meds she has been put on?? Read the list of expected side affects that should be provided with same perhaps ....... ?

Other than that, she really needs to be fully assessed by a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath.

Vitamin E oil seems to work wonders when applied to dry and cracking skin, as do oils rich in Vitamins A and D .......... a creme such as one rich in pawpaw creme (vitamin A) will do wonders for healing and soothing cracking and bleeding skin.

Get her to pump up her intake of of foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids ~ such as cold water fishes like salmon and tuna as they will help enormously in keeping hair, skin and nails healthy, they will also bolster her immune system and aid in lowering blood pressure and are great mood and stress levellers.

Also increase her intake of vitamin A rich foods to keep the outer layers of her skin, tissues and organs healthy ...... without enough vitamin A in your system no amount of potions or lotions will give you healthy, glowing skin.

ie ~ sweet potatoe, pumpkin, carrotts, dark green and leafy vegies, fish liver oils and eggs and yellow fruits.

Vitamin A rich foods will also assist in counteracting night blindness, weak eyesight and help treat acne, superficial wrinkles and open sores such as she has &heart;

*** edit ***

Vitamin A works best with the B complex, vitamin D, Vit E, calcium, phosphorus and zinc ......... zinc is what's needed by the liver to get vitamin A out of its storage deposits ..........

Eat more foods rich in zinc also ie ~ cold water fishes such as tuna and salmon, meat, liver, wheat germ, p0umpkin seeds, eggs and brewer's yeast.

Do not supplement with fat soluble vitamins such as vitamin A unless under instructions from a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath ?

hope this helps a bit ?

Athlete's foot is a skin infection in the foot caused by a fungus. The fungus that causes Athlete foot is called Trichophyton. When the feet, or other areas of the body, stay moist, warm and irritated, this fungus can thrive and infect the upper layer of the skin. The symptoms of Athlete foot include itching and burning feet. The skin frequently peels and, in particularly severe cases, there may be some cracking, pain and bleeding as well.
There is a very effective remedy for this condition. Take 2 garlic cloves and crush them very well until you obtain a soft paste. Add few drops of alcohol and mix well.
Apply the garlic ointment in the infected area after the bath. Secure in place with a bandage. You can also apply it at night, before sleep. Renew the ointment every day until the symptoms are resolved. Once you are healed, continue with the treatment for at least one or two more weeks.

Further to the other answers; it could be a sensitivity reaction to laundry detergents or chemicals coming out of new shoes. This is especially likely if she has recently changed laundry detergents or bought new shoes - of course the bit about detergent only applies if she wears socks or stockings with the shoes.

Another possible reason is something slightly wrong with the circulation in one leg - which could be causing the swelling as well, because in this case fluid tends to pool in the foot.

you could tell her to apply moisturiser very, very often and wear thongs/no shoes.

TRY TREATING THE FOOT IN PEROXIDE START OUT 2TIME A DAY. IT SOUNDS LIKE TIDDER. IT BREAKS OUT ON THE HAND AND FEET. STARTS WITH THE FLAKING AND THEN CRACKING. GOOD LUCK

Has she tried pure aloe vera, from an aloe plant yet?
