I was suffering from a tear in my knee I am not sure how to spell what the doctor called it. Torn meniscus or something like that . He said I needed surgery and I said is there any other way. He said no.
Well I did not have time to take off work and be off my leg for weeks so I bought myself a magnetic knee brace and in a week it was fine. I mean really all better. I took off the magnetic knee brace and was all done with it.
I had really been suffering and could hardly walk before this and the MRI was why the Dr said I needed the surgery.
This was last year and I never have had another problem and if you asked me now I could not even tell you what knee it was.
So I don't know what to say. For me I chose to try the magnets instead of surgury and 8 to 12 weeks of healing.
For me it worked great!!!

There are no health benefits. It's total quackery.

There are pros and cons to everything especially alternative medicine. I work with alot of people who wear the magnetic bracelets and swear by them. I have recently found out I have arthritis in the neck.It is a pain that I struggle to find comfort for. I bought a magnetic neck wrap on Ebay figuring I would give it a try, and it has been the best thing yet.

Almost without a doubt that there is no physiological effect, and even if there is, then it might be bad.

Six or seven of my friends and relatives have tried them and didn't get any benefit. Every double-blind clinical test that I've seen with them says that they have zero real effect, only a placebo effect.

They "help" because magnets suppress symptoms by confusing afferent nerve signals (the nerves which bring messages to the brain and inform about the damaged area). The pain (which is the symptom of a problem) goes away, But the CAUSE remains and continues doing a lot of damage in your body. It's like clearing away the smoke, closing the door and letting the fire burn happily while pretending your house is perfectly safe because there is no smoke.

That's how magnets work and that is why magnetotherapy is so popular - and so dangerous. People get what they want (no more pain) and don't care about the cause of their problem. After a while they get new symptoms because the cause is still there and got worse, but they don't realize the connection between the old symptoms, the magnets and the new ones..

Moreover, it has been proved by acupuncturists that magnets disturb the meridian energy - therefore the energy feeding all your organs, including the heart!

I don't think you want to do that to yourself. Do you?

Magnets are an alternative to painkillers, but unless someone has an incurable disease and wants to avoid taking strong painkillers or morphin, I would stay far away from magnets of any kind.

Magnets have no effect on any part of the body. Not on blood flow, not on afferent nerve conduction, not on imaginary "qi" or "meridians" (LOL!).
They are a wonderful way to make money for the sellers.

I think I will try them even if it has a placebo effect that means it will work for some. Just not feeling pain helps healing(analgesic effect)of some conditions. I have some arthritis in the hand.

I have one, it didn't do anything but its really pretty. Its a really great alternative to wearing other metals in jewlery that can cause allergic reactions and can be toxic. Plus if you ever drop something metal in a place you can't reach its always good to have a long magnetic thing available to grab it out.

I have carpal tunnel and have used the magnetic bracelets and while they helpped a little bit they did not do the job. If you are looking at them for this reason go to you doctor and get diagnosed. They had me see a specialist who gave me a shot of steriods that helped with this situation for a few years, it is starting to come back now but it is not nearly as bad as it was. The specialist would decide if you needed the shot or not or if it would benefit you or not. I was able to get it because it was the begining stages of the carpal tunnel.

Magnetic discs put on pain areas are working fine. However, a bracelet has no indication and not a certain place, so it will not work. If you like such, better buy a tachyons watch.
