All energy has light properties, whether we see them or not. When special photography is used to view a person's Aura for instance, it's the way the light is reflected during the exposure of that particular energy field. Hope that helps :)

To look bright, cheerful and attractive?
I think that India is so colourful that anything in relation to its customs must also be colourful.

WHY is a difficult question. Why are your eyes coloured? Why is your hair coloured? Why is water colourless? They just are. The same with the chakras.
They are said to have a colour by the people who can see them and we have all agreed to use those conventional colours for them.
Personally, I work with them and I can feel them. I can also test the effect of how I have worked on them, but I have never seen them. So I can't confirm.
