A nasal spray, but not any type of nasal spray.

Use PROPOLIS in spray form. It is a natural antibiotic and will help your sinuses in no time.

Also important: sinus infection (and the common cold) are a sign of "I've had it up to here". Take it easy. Your body is telling you you are doing too much, or have too many worries.

Take care!

Eat a spoonful of horseradish!

1.Go to the doctor, sinus infections don't clear up on their own.2.To clear sinuses, eat hot salsa,or anything spicy.

I am having this problem right now... To be honest with you i have no idea on home remedy but some sudafed will do the trick..lol

See if you can find a neti pot - some stores like Whole Foods carry them. It forces saline solution through your sinus cavity, and it can make a difference. I know it sounds odd, but it doesn't hurt, and it helps!

The simplest and best way is by spray-able saline solution (basically, salt water) which you can find at most drug stores. It's called nasal irrigation (fun, huh?). It sort of feels like when you swim in the ocean and get salt water up your nose. But it's obviously more in your control.

This is to help sinuses, but this won't/doesn't help a cold.

boil a pot of hot water... once its simmered down.. put ur face over the pot (NOT INTO THE WATER DONT BURN URSELF) just enough for the steam to hit ur face well... put a towel over ur head and pot... sit there for a bit .. it should make ur nose run... orrrrrr u can put some salt in lukewarm water and snort a BIT of it ....the salt supposedly cleans u out....but if its an infection, the only thing that will teat it is antibiotics....go see a doc

My mom swears by this Netty (nasal) pot thing. I don't know how it works but it uses sea salt. My friends have even spoke about it and say it really works to clear sinuses!

You can try using a nasal spray (think you may need a doctor's prescription to buy this), doing steam inhalation or nasal saline wash. Make sure you do it properly though. There's a lot of information on the net on these. Hope you feel better soon.

as a massage therapist, i get a lot fo this. here are some thigns you can do:
1. put pressure on your sinus points. you have them on the top inside of your eyesocket. its on the inner corner, you should feel a nitch in the bone... if its an infection it will be painful. put pressure on it until it goes away. you also have some on either side of your nose. usually jus ton the outside of your nostrils there should be a notch, again put pressure until the pain goes away.
2. get an ice pack and a bowl of very hot water and a towel. wet the towel and ring it out. start by putting the cold pack over your eyes for 30 seconds, then put the hot towel inthe same spot. then after 30 seconds take it off and put pressures on your sinus point as mentioned above. repeat until congestion is gone....
3. get in teh shower and let the hot water run as hot as possible and breath in the hot steam for 15 min.
4. honey might work as well.

also we did this at school. run cold water in your sink and snort it up your nose and blow it out. do this repeatedly until nose is clear.

Go to the health food store (or drugstore.com) and buy NASALINE it is a syringe that is used to push salt water into one nostril and allow it to come out the other side. Yes I know this gross. But you will thank me forever about this. Next, you can take a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil and put in a pot of boiling water, put your head over it with a towel to hold the steam in and your nose should loosen up. But Nasaline works best. If you get frequent nasal stuff consider taking an allergy test.

Try a Neti Pot. Be sure you are using good natural dead sea salt with it.

good luck, I have chronic sinusitis and it is not fun at all. I often use saline to wash out my nose, other than that you need an allergy sinus med, this may help unclog your nose. If your discharge from your nose is green, then you have an infection, and you would want to head to the Dr. for antibiotics.

good luck, this time if year reeks havoc on sinuses.

Get into a hot shower and BLOW!!!

steamy showers

The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes
