What are some natural ways to treat a chronic migraine condition?!

Question: I am on medication for this but I would like to come off this medication. I am considering using legitimate herbal products or other ways of preventing migraines. When I am not on medication, I usually get them daily and they are very debilitating. Sincere, polite, constructive answers only please.

Well, this varies depending on what your triggers are. I get migraines frequently, so the first thing I do is take care of what's triggering them. If hunger's your trigger, have something to eat. If stress is, try some deep breaths. This probably won't make the migraine go away, but treating the root cause is important.

I take prescription medication, but here are some other things that I do when my meds don't cure the pain:

I try some biofeedback (which is basically using breathing and focus to calm your body and ease pain). Go see a doctor or biofeedback specialist who will show you the best way to go about this for your specific migraines. I was skeptical at first, but it really does help.

Finally, I drink a cup of coffee or soda (caffeine actually helps relieve migraine pain), and then try to take a thirty minute nap, or at least lie down in a dark room. Sleep, no matter how brief, is usually the best migraine treatment.

Good luck!

take feverfew pills daily..might cause weight gain..

One thing that worked for me was sipping on some Jasmine Tea then taking a quick nap in a dark room. I'm part Asian/Pacific Islander so, this s a treatment passed down in my family.

Feverfew is good.
Also Butterbur, but there are known carcinogens in the unpure form. A German company called Weber-Weber produce a purified pharmaceutical grade butterbur supplement, with the carcinogens removed, the product is called Petadolex.
It is best to supplement both Feverfew and Petadolex, and other herbs/hoempathic remedies recommended, as they will work in synergy.

Migraines have also been associated with serotonin imbalance {the feel good neurotransmitter, also deficient in depressive patients, along with many other things}, so consider supplementing 30mg a day of 5HTP, in the morning, or at night if you have sleep problems, {5HTP is the precursor to serotonin, and at night converts to melatonin, due to the chnage in physiology regulated by the circadian clock}.

My dad is a homeopath, he claims good success with migraines using homeopathic remedies, like Asculus and Calculus, they might be spelt wrong. Take 200c potency initially, as recommended by the one of the best homeopaths {& MD}, Dr. Nash

How dare you idiots recommend Feverfew and 200c homeoquack "remedies" for someone with severe migraine

Keep your snake oil to yourselves

Inhaling essential oil of lavender ans drinking a cup of chamomile tea when you very first feel it coming on can sometimes stop a migraine, or reduce it's severity.
