Not sure whether you mean that the child already has rabies or that he was bitten by an animal that is or may be rabid!. If the child already has rabies I would get him under the care of a neurologist as soon as possible!.
If he was bitten by an animal that is or may be rabid, the following should be done!.
1!. If you have access to the animal and it is alive, quarantine it for 21 days!. If it is still live, then it wasn't rabid!.
2!. If the animal is dead, then you need to take it to your local animal control so that the brain can be removed and inspected for Negri Bodies, which indicates that it is rabid!.
3!. If you don't have the animal (live or dead) then the child is going to have to have a series of ani-rabies shots, directly into the stomach muscles!.
If you don't do one of the above and the child actually comes down with rabies, most of the time he will die from it!. There has been extremely rare cases of the person living, but he is usually a "vegetable"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
