my throat is KILLING me!. it hurts to swallow and talk!. ive tried hot tea, ice tea, air borne, throat lasenges, steam, everything! HELP!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Slippery Elm works really well!. Traditional Medicine Teas makes a tea called Throat Coat that has slippery elm in it, along with other good-for-you herbs!. Most Giant and Weis markets carry it, along with health food stores and the Vitamin Shoppe!.
Constant/chronic sore throat could be caused by sinus problems (and a host of other things)!. If you have continuing problems, get checked out by a doctor!. You may also want to try some chiropractic treatments!. If your neck is out of alignment it can cause weird problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most of the home remedies don't do anything to ease the pain of a sore throat!. Salt and warm water just tastes bad, lemon and tea are good for you but wont' really relieve any pain!.
The alcohol idea actually does work somewhat and the numbing effects are felt even as you consume it (the alcohol will numb the nerves while in contact)!. So, you can try some kind of booze, try to swallow slowly!. This is good for some pain relief, but of course isn't for everyone!.
But really, i'd recommend some over the counter meds that have a numbing ingredient Cepacol comes to mind!. This product has something that makes your throat numb temporarily, works well for the short term with less problems than trying the alcohol route!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My Dad always offered me an aspirin,that was left on the back of the tongue!. The tablet would dissolve and trickle down the throat!. This remedy is not for all because of the taste,but you do get used to the taste and it's nearly not as nasty tasting as most of the throat remedies!.

My grandmother used an old recipe that our older depression era generation used and it works!. She use to get water as hot as I could stand it and pour in a lot of salt and have me gargle, it killed the germs and made me feel better, give it a shot!. I am 40 my grandmother is long deceased and I still use the method today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Gargle warm salt water for 2 minutes every half hour to help HEAL whatever is causing the pain!. Then, (at yor own risk) Swallow some oragel or Carmex lip balm!. look, doctors suck, so no doc, the lemon & honey-naa it only works for some!.!.!.!.I suggest you do what I did, and im serious!

Colloidal silver!. Gargle with 1 tablespoon twice a day and swallow it!. That is what I do myself when I feel a sore throat starting!. Works better than OTC junk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
