Question: Olive oil instead of sunscreen!?
I called our local healthfood store looking for some sunscreen and spoke to a herbalist who said all she ever uses for herself and her children is organic extra virgin olive oil!. Has anyone tried this!? Does it work!? Does is have to be organic!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is brilliant as a moisturiser for your skin but if you use it as your only form of sun protection you will burn terribly!. Safe sun exposure is the best way to avoid getting sunburnt ie ~ cover up with loose clothing and a sun hat and avoid the harsh rays of the sun when it is at is strongest ie ~ between 10a!.m!. & 2p!.m!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. ;0)

the oil will definately attract the sun and burn you!. !. !. just like tanning oil is meant to do- attract the sun!. Maybe she uses the oil to achieve a quick tan!. If you want something made from natural ingredients why not try Burts Bee's sunscreen : it has gotten pretty good ratings, stays put during sports, and protects well for only about 8 dollars!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
olive oil "organic" or otherwise has no natural sunscreen in it!. It i an oil and will moisturize the skin only!.
