Question: I have PCOS and Insulin resistance with depression and pelvic pain!. What herbs could help me out!?
And do brands really matter!?

Right now, I'm on the birth control pill to have regular periods and to help combat my PMDD, and also to help control excessive facial and body hair as well as my chronic pelvic pain!.
I'm also on metformin to control insulin resistance and regulate my period!.
I'm also on Spironolactone to help with excessive facial hair and alopecia!.

I want to go herbal because I was reading about metformin and spironolactone particularly, and they can be really bad for you in the long run!.

What herbs could I take that would have similar effects as the prescription meds i'm already on!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont think herbal meds is the best way to go at it!. A lot of these so called wonder drugs are either snake oils or a very strong mixture that carry various (yet to be discovered) side effects!.
Best way to deal with it would be meditation!. You have to bear in mind that all these physical feelings are triggered by thoughts and thus can be controlled by achieving deep inner peace!.
Our ancestors don't have much meds with them back in their days, how do you think they cope up!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Once you get the PCOS under control the body hair should go away!. I know nothing about spironlactone!.
Metformin is great in helping with PCOS, anything that will lower your blood sugar!. Metformin is a very well tolerated medication, it has been around for years and many docs prescribe it for weight loss!. There is little or no danger just get a liver panel lab test after you have taken it for 3 months, If OK it is good for you!.!.
Cinnamon is also great if you take more than a couple of grams a day, many people take 4 - 8 grams, pay for the PF kind!. Otherwise you can use they stuff you buy in the grocery or chew the sticks!.
Gymena, bitter melon (you can find it in Indian and Latin American food stores) and all of the herbs that help diabetics will help!.
You need to keep a tight control of your blood sugar!. That will help cure the PCOS and you will lose weight, especially around your middle!.
A low carb diet is also essential!. There are a lot around!. The people who wrote "Protein Power" have good information on PCOS!. Sorry I don't remember the names!.

Remember when you reach for a sugary food or a piece of bread, is it worth the pelvic pain, the weird hair and the weird sexual feelings just for the taste of sweets and bread!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have it and doctors tried putting me on the birth control and other drugs like Glucophage for insulin resistence!. I did not care for it and have never liked drugs very much!. The problem that we have takes long term care and won't go away over night!. I came across some information from a naturopath that recommended some supplements to take and there have been some breakthroughs as far as PCOS is concerned!. Now it is not cheap and will take patience and dedication!. Well!. here it is!.

Take 1000 mcg of chromium picolinate!. Break this up into 2 doses, like 500 mcg twice a day!.(after two months insulin sensitivity had improved by an average of 35% and baseline insulin levels fell by 22%!.

600 IU of vitamin D
600 mg of saw palmetto
400 mg of nettle
600 mg of d-pinitol(this turns to d-chiro-inositol in the body and reduces blood glucose concentration by 19!.3%, decreased hemoglobin A1c concentration by 12!.4% and significantly improved insulin resisitence in three months time)!.
It is also recommended if you are overweight to lose the extra weight and cut down on the simple carbs which causes your insulin to increase and in turn increases the testosterone that your body will make!. It was also mentioned that soy lecithin is also good to use for it contains the same compound in d-chiro-inositol that improves our condition too!.
Tthere is also an herb combination that i take that is good for cysts and fibroids and for some reason improves acne!. It is called "cinnamon and poria" and helps me a lot!. I will give you the link!.http://www!.radiantwonder!.com/store/comer!.!.!.
You don't have to just get it from here you can just google it and a list of companies that sell it!. I always buy this from radiant wonder, because their herbs smell fresh!. I am not affiliated with these people in any way, just trying to help!.

Or you can go to this website to order their supplements and it is also very informative!.

Keep striving and researching and we will all get to where we want to be! God willing!.
This seemed real hopeful and encouraging!. First from a naturopath that deals with these issues in a magazine!. This is what she prescribed and next I saw it on a forum which lead me to this!.
Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
