Question: Homeopathic/Herbal remedy for Hypothyroidism!?
My mother has suffered from Hypothyroidism since she was in her late 20's, and although she's been on Cynthroid for several years, she suffers from some of the side effects!. She asked me to look into some Herbal or Homeopathic remedies for her to try!. Does anyone know of anything like this for Hypothyroidism that's worked with minimal side effects!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would go for something herbal for this!.
Homeopathy doesn't really work like that (treating one symptom or problem), so unless she wants to sit down with a homeopath and go over her whole life story and every symptom she has, it won't be helpful at all!. Plus, because she's been on Synthroid for so long, a homeopathic remedy may not even work at this point because her whole system is skewed!.
There are about 11 herbal remedies for hypothyroidism, none of which you should self-"prescribe"!. I would tell your mom to go to a Master Herbalist and have her case evaluated and get the herbal remedies from that person!. You don't want to mess with the thyroid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, some of the biggest natural products that are used to benefit Thyroid health are Iodine, L-Tyrosine, and Coleus Forskohlii (an herb)!. Some other basic nutrients can help the overall support of the body, but that's just healthy living in general!.
Your best bet to find out which one would be most beneficial for your mom would be to talk to a doctor/nutritionist/herbalist!. However, as a starting point, L-Tyrosine is safe to take in general for most anyone because it's an Amino Acid that you'll get from protein as it is!. Also, most people get sufficient Iodine for basic health from salt and processed foods that add Iodine, so you'll want to check with a doctor to see what her Iodine levels currently are!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your mother should take a saliva test for her T3 thyroid levels!.
DO NOT TAKE THE BLOOD TEST- THE RESULTS WILL BE FALSE!. (the blood test will find her T4 thyroid levels!. The T4 thyroid hormone in the blood is useless to the body, because it is wrapped in a protein, which causes it to be useless!. The T3 thyroid is present in the saliva!.)
The T3 thyroid controls all of the body's functions, moods, heartbeat, and low levels of T3 will seem like other problems and disorders, and will be mis-diagnosed, wrong medications (to treat these false readings) will be taken, and cause more problems, and so on, and so on!.
Check out these websites, and you may finally get a correct diagnosis w/ correct medication(s)!.
All the best to your family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Iodine supplements may be valuable for her! The thyroid depends upon iodine to function in a healthy way!. Pharmacy sections and health food stores carry it in liquid forms for internal consumption, but it must be the type for internal consumption, otherwise it is toxic!

Chlorine in out water, tricks to body into to using Chlorine in place of iodine, because of an almost identical molecular structure, but chlorine doesn't do the job, and causes thyroid problems in particular!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
