Question: Lysine pills for a cold sore!?
I am just starting to get a cold sore!. Right now it is just a red, slightly swollen, itchy spot on and below my lip!. I have heard that the amino acid, lysine, will help stop the virus from multiplying!. If I start taking it now will it work!? I want to stop the cold sore before it becomes a big swollen scab!. thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

I've never found taking lysine internally to help much!. But I used a lysine balm for the lips and it helps right away!. It also made it so I got a lot less cold sores (I used to get them all the time) and it made the ones I do get come in really small!. I swear by it!. In the meantime ice will help with the pain and the swelling!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i work in a pharmacy and of course there are some meds in the pharmacy that will rid you of your cold sore, BUT one of the over the counter meds that seem to work good is called curasore!.!.!.!.its a special order item that they would keep in the pharmacy but it's an over the counter med, but you have to keep in mind that if you already have a cold sore, there is really nothing you can do but to use something to dry it up so it doesn't spread!. the only real way to NOT get a cold sore is to make meds right when you start to feel that tingle that starts BEFORE the bump(sore) apprears!. i hope this helps you a little!.

Take 2000 mg a day at the first sign of a cold sore!. You can also buy lysine ointment to apply topically!. After that, take 500 mg daily as a supplement!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you feel it coming, put ice on it or stick a metal object, say a spoon that you've kept in the freezer to keep it from popping out!!
It will then disappear in no time!.!.!.
Pure coco butter is good as well!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not really , but it may help some!. You really need to take the lysine as a daily supplement if you are prone to cold sores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
