LIES!

I AM an anesthesiologist, and here are the facts:

In the US, you first need a college degree (bachelor's or better), then a medical degree (MD or DO)!. Those typically take 4 years each!.

Once you are a physician, you do a residency in anesthesiology, which is 4 years!. Fellowships of 1-2 years are optional if you have a desire to specialize in something like cardiac anesthesia or chronic pain management!.

Total time is about 12 years, if you go straight through and don't do a fellowship!.

Modern anesthesia is very safe, and the death rate in the OR is amazingly low!. We get a lot of very sick people through surgery!. Most of the deaths in the OR are related to trauma that can't be fixed, or open heart cases where the heart is too damaged to work properly after bypass, or cases where the patient was already almost dead before hitting the OR (ruptured abdominal aneurysm)!.

Malpractice premiums can be high, but not half out salary!. More like 10-20%!. Still high, but it's pre-tax!.

Where did these other people come from!? (shakes head)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You must become an MD first and then specialize in anesthesiology!. This is not an easy science, as scientists are'nt really sure how they work to begin with!. (Most people who die in the operating room die from too much anesthesia)!.
I would say 8-10 years of medical schooling would cover it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First a Bachelor's degree = 4 yrs , then Medical school = 4 yrs then Specialty in Anesthesiology = 3/4 yrs for a total of 11 or 12 yrs!. Huge Educational Loan after education!. An anesthesiologist pays 6 months of his salary for malpractice insurance as 1 in 12 patients under total anesthesia does not come out of it!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

4 years of college (must get a 3!.6 GPA or higher and good MCAT scores)
4 years of medical school
5-7 years of residencyWww@Answer-Health@Com
