Toxins do not build up in the body!. This is a myth!. Heavy metals do but there is nothing you can do about that except avoid them (like not eating large sharks as they are high in mercury)!.

Your kidneys and liver naturally detox you on a daily basis!. You can see this effect when medication wears off or you sober up after drinking alcohol!. Or after you take a B vitamin supplement how you wee goes bright yellow!. This is the natural detox process!. No diet will help this!.

Detoxes aren't generally harmful but they can give the impression that you can eat whatever you want 90% of the time and detox the other 10% and you will clean out your body and be healthy!. But this is not how it works!. You need to eat well all the time!. A detox diet for a week or two wont erase months of poor eating/exercise habits!.

The best thing is to look after your self, eat well and exercise!. Detoxing doesn't do a thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"Detox" means eliminating toxins from your body!. You will have more energy and it will allow your body to grow and heal better and faster by helping it detox!.

The body naturally detoxifies itself but with so many toxins in the environment, food and personal products, our bodies get overloaded!.

Depending on how overly toxic your body is, you may or may not feel a little tired as the toxins are being eliminated, but that is temporary and the end result is that you'll feel better and have more energy!.

Just ensure that you drink plenty of water and get good rest!. Make sure you're getting protein as well because that's the nutrient that the body uses to repair and build cells and tissue!.

I would like to try a natural detox diet myself; I don't think I would want to buy pills or powders that are supposed to detox the body when natural foods would be cheaper and probably safer:

All fresh vegetables!. Vegetables thought to be particularly good detox foods include broccoli, cauliflower, broccoli sprouts, onions, garlic, artichokes, beets, red and green vegetables!.

All forms of rice, including rice cakes, rice crackers and rice pasta!. Brown rice is typically preferred!.
Other Grains

Quinoa, amaranth, millet, and buckwheat can be used instead of rice!.

They can be purchased at a health food store or in some grocery stores!.

Split yellow and green peas and lentils are easiest to digest and require the least soaking time!. Other good options include kidney beans, pinto beans, mung beans, garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and adzuki beans!.

Unsalted nuts or seeds can be sprinkled over salads or eaten as a snack!. Good options include flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews and walnuts!. Nut butters are permitted!. Peanuts and peanut butter are usually not recommended!.

Extra-virgin olive oil is a preferred oil!.

Vegetable salt, sea salt, vinegar, soy sauce or tamari, all herbs or spices!.

Herbal teas, green tea!.

Water, lemon water, pure unsweetened fruit and vegetable juices, rice milk

Daily Detox Do's:

* Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day, warm or room temperature!.

* Take the time to chew food well, especially grains!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
