I have experienced it!. Back in the 70's and 80's I used LSD a few times and that was one of the things that happened!. It is a fascinating experience when music has color and color has a sound, for example!. I enjoyed it!.
Besides hallucinogenic chemicals, there are apparently a lot of people who have this all the time naturally!. For them it is normal!.
