Meditation just means living in the moment!. There is no trick to it except you have to practice what works for you!. You find something in the here and now to focus on - your breath, the way your hands feel, the quality of the light, whatever!. Some people appreciate guided meditations like you can get on DVD or whatever, but that didn't do it for me, for me it is just kind of a mental stepping back and release!. You allow your thoughts to pass through you, instead of being them!.

Like, if you think of that deadline tomorrow and feel a rush of panic, you just sort of say to yourself: There, okay, I just thought of a deadline and had a rush of panic!. And you notice the way the rush feels in your body, carefully as if it is the first time ever !.!.!. etc!. The goal is to be in the present moment as it is arising, and see it new, unique, and complete, without expectation or judgment of whether you are doing well or poorly, or noticing the right things, or what is supposed to happen next!.

If you do this whenever it occurs to you to do it, you will get better at it, be able to maintain it longer, and become more likely to habitually operate in a calm receptive state, with your anxieties in perspective!. You might also try to practice meditating during solo physical exercise, like yoga or running or just shooting baskets !.!.!. I think it helps, anyway!. There's no right way to meditate, it's what works for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
