NOT REALLY aS i PRACTICE ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE!. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT!.!.one use a small ceramic maroon colored bead to block the waves from computers,cell phones and micro waves to name but a few uses for it!. If one wants to cleanse one self and air and home around one one can do a clearing of space!. Essential oils such as rosemary,frankinscence,myrh and sage are great for this!. Just burn them in an ol burner or place in a diffuser like incense or buy incense with these herbs in it!. I grow my own herbs such as rosemary for this!. Then you can do a smudging ritual where you take the ashes and place them on your body similar to the ashes used on ash wednesday and the ceremonial spraying of incense on Easter Sunday used in the church!. These herbs for cleansing and clearing of space as a ritual ahve been around for centuries and have been used in Native American culture!. The sweat box to clear out the toxins from the body in a teepee is another!.!.
I also use gem stones and precious metals including copper which is a conductor of qi,energy for healing!. Coral is a cleansing stone and induces sweating and increase in excretory function in the body when worn!. I also encourage you to use cranberry juice and drink alot of water to cleanse the urinary tract!. cheers!

Seeing all the answers, I would suggest you put your question and specify it with the word "Reiki" in it!. This will ensure that you'll get reliable answers!. Cleanse yourself from the bad energy is a method used in Reiki!. As a matter of fact, sometimes I feel like doing a cleansing myself -seeing, without judging, as some people are really rude and insensitive to other fellow users- !.
I do this cleansing by grounding myself first and secondly by passing my hand 3 times over each arm, without touching my arm, while saying "Reiki"!. Then I shake my hands vigourously!.

Why do you do that!? So it can dirty up the creek, that never did anything to you, and can flow into somebody's lake and dirty that up as well!?
