Question: Candida Die-Off Reaction!? with Oil of Oregano!?
I took two Oreganol Super Strength P73 gel capsules by N!. American Herbs & Spices!. Each capsule has a blend of oil of oregano with olive oil, totalling 180mg per capsule, so I took a 360mg dose {2 capsules}!.

1-2 Hours later, I have a bad headache, all around!.

Is this a reaction of Candida Die-off, or due to the side-effect of taking 360mg of Oil of Oregano!?

What dose is reccommended for fighting Candida Albicans/overgrwoth in the gut!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, it is probably candida die off!. Die off can get pretty bad and make you quite miserable!. So start out slower, meaning smaller doses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Candida Albicans can be caused by a high sugar intake so reducing your sugar intake might help as well as Oil of Oregano!. See item 27 in http://www!.rheumatic!.org/sugar!.htm !.

As regards the dose of Oil of Oregano you can find useful information in a web search for "oil of oregano" + "candida albicans" + dose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

here is some info on research that proves the validity of the oregano oil over fungus:

Very entertaining conversation!.!.!.but I'll only respond to the issue at hand!. I know oil of oregano is a fungal fighter but I've never used or heard of it used for candida!. But I will do my own research as I'm curious now!.

The only thing that has worked for me (I had it 15 years ago and am going through it now) is a complete adherence to the candida diet!. For 3 months minimum!. No cheating!. I cheated with a bite of chocolate cake 6 weeks into it and I suffered greatly with a headache and sinus/allergy flare-ups!.!.!.within 10 minutes!. (I guess those little guys were starving for some sugar)

Some other herbs and suppliments to consider
Pau d'arco
probiotics - at least 2x/day
apple cider vinegar
Aloe vera juice - gut soothing

As far as the headache goes!.!.!.i can't really say!. my gut (no pun intended) is telling me it's from the oregano!.!.!.but try cutting back like suggested and see what happens!. If it continues I'd stop and find another way!.

Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Oh Skorpian!. sigh

There is no such disorder as "candida albicans overgrowth"
It is a meaningless/fad "diagnosis" offered typically by Naturopaths, and ill informed pseudo-herbologists like yourself!. (There actually are conditions where Candida can overgrow!.!.such as vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, which, yes, may happen after treatment with antibiotics or steroids!. It is an annoyance!. In cases where there truly is fungal overgrowth!.!.!.like as may happen in people with severe immune problems like AIDS, people are critically ill, and often die!.!.!.!.but you aren't talking about those cases, are you!?!?)

Garbage can diagnoses like CAO are very useful because they can be used to account for a wide variety of vague symptoms, that are typically psychosomatic in nature!. The "cure" is also very facile!. Take this "cleanse/herb/detox" and all your symptoms will vanish!.

People like having a definitive answer!. They like being able to name their disease!. They are actually proud if they are told it is "the worst case" the naturopath ever saw!. They don't like conventional doctors telling them there is nothing wrong with them , or its stress, or they are just over-reacting to the normal aches, pains, and turmoil the body goes through on a day to day basis!.

If I could give myself a thumbs down just to save you the effort, I would!.

EDIT: Conventional medicine "denies it" because it is non-existent, as with subluxations, chi and Santa Claus!. It is a non-illness, so I'm quite sure oregano capsules or rubbing your head with toadstools at midnight in a cemetery are equally effective at "curing" it!.
This forum, like the Religion & Spirituality one seems to be just for the deluded to reinforce their pet delusions with each other, not for an actual rational exchange of information or examining odd claims with critical thinking!.
The two websites you cite as references for my edification are biased Altie sites!. Show me an independent study by someone who doesn't have a vested interest in maintaining the fiction!. A MEDLINE search and a search of the Cochrane database shows no such condition!.

As always, when you've shot your wad, you resort to insults, the last resort of the immature and ignorant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
