Staying calm will make it hurt less!. It is not the shot you find painful because they are not pianful!. It is the expectation of pain leading up to the shot that hurting you!. I know for a fact that I experience more painful things everyday a stubbed toe and scratch or my kids bumping my head accidently!. We deal with these things because there is no anticipation!. You are a rational adult work on letting go of the expectations of it being painful and just get it done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some people really do freak out with needles, probably a bad childhood experience, or parents that set a bad example themselves!. Some cultural groups (no, I won't name them) do also seem to be more histrionic about pain generally!.!.!.or at least express it more outwardly!. Getting worked up and panicky will of course make any pain feel much worse!.
The truth is that injections given with a smallish needle (25 gauge) given by an experienced practitioner are almost painless!.

Go with a friend!. Relax!. Do some meditation or other relaxation technique!. It's important that the person giving the needle be relaxed, friendly, and even jokes around a little to help you relax!. I've found a lot of the nurses giving shots at vaccination clinics just get very mechanical about it, and they don't have the time to calm people, they just jab it in and say "next"

Another interesting thing I've noticed, is that nurses were trained to use larger bore needles (21 and 22 gauge), which can hurt more!. There does seem to be this nursing culture thing that I've never been able to change!.

I give "shots" all the time!.!.!.and most patients tell me they don't even notice themWww@Answer-Health@Com

I used to be really bad about shots!. Here are some things that halp me!. Mentally coach yourself that it's not going to hurt for long and even if it aches afterward, it's just a shot, not an injury!. Relax your breathing and what may help is to lay down on your back with your knees bent (so you're not laying flat or rigid); it may relax you more than sitting up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you researched each shot!?
Each disease it prevents!?
How to treat the disease!?
Disease occurance!?

It might give you one more reason to not get the shot!. I found no disease scares me, once I look at those factors, along with the history and faults associated with a vaccine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Okay!.!.!.I'll lighten your mood!.!.!.TURN THE OTHER CHEEK!!! In other words take them in the rear!.!.!.you don't see them coming and have little to fear from the needles!.!.!.It's not the shots that actually frighten you it's the needles!.!.!.If you don't see 'em than you won't be afraid of 'em!. PEACE & GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, maybe get a piercing you really like!. It might make you feel more positive towards needles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What helps me is to see it happen!. Also I relax per breathing techniques!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
