Length of accupuncture sessions?!

Question: Length of accupuncture sessions!?
Hi! I have been calling around to a few places- some say the sessions are an hour and some have half an hour sessions!. Clearly the half hour sessions are more affordable- those of you who have had acupuncture, how long were you sessions!? Should half an hour be as beneficial as an hour!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Time depends on what the therapist finds, during your first session with you!.
The acupuncturist will ask you a few medical questions and what your life style is like!. This will help them know what your body needs and what your wants are out of the sessions!. Acupuncture is not a quick fix!. It takes time to see the results that you're looking for!.
Ask questions before hand!. If you don't have that comfortable feeling, move on until you find a therapist that makes you feel comfortable!. Also once you do find your Acupuncturist, tell them that the pressure is comfortable or not!. This will better help the therapist!.

A great acupuncturist will spend at least one hour to one and a half hours with you the very first treatment!. You will usually pay a little bit more for the first treatment!. It is well worth it!.
After that they may have you back, depending on what you are treating, for five to ten times and at that point you may have half hour sessions!. They can be just as beneficial
If you are treating full body you will probably have one hour sessions, for instance for back pain, tendinitis, depression!.
If you want to quit smoking it will more likely be ten half hour sessions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say the longer sessions are probably better, though many practitioners stick with 30 mins or even less (medical doctors often only have 20minute sessions, seeing a few patients in separate rooms at the same time)!. It depends on the condition being treated as well!. It wont take as long to treat an acute condition as opposed to something which has been a problem for many months or years!. First session will likely be longer to take all your details, shorter ones should follow!. Id be more focused on finding a good practitioner, be aware that medical doctors do a different type of training to 'traditional' accupunturists and therefore the treatment style may also vary considerably!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At least an hour is needed!. They shouldn't really be charging by the hour but the session!. They usually put needles in and then let you rest for 20 minutes or so and then come back and check the needles and let you rest awhile longer!.

An hour is really better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A good one should be able to do it in a half hour - but the hour is very nice and will be more relaxing!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
