Answers:
Most states require a minimum 500 hour course in order to become certified as a CMT!. Vermont, where I currently am, requires 550, and some spas here also require national certification, which involves a $250 national (AMTA) certification fee, sitting for and passing their exam, and another $150 diploma or exam fee!. Different states have different requirements, which many localities having even steeper requirements than those of the state they're in that must be met in order to practice!. The spa I work at also requires we take CEU's each year, and that we either have our own personal liability insurance (if one is working as an independent contractor) or that we become employees of the spa in order to be covered under their liability insurance!.

Going to massage school has proved to be one of the best things I ever did for myself!. I don't know where you are on the planet, but I cannot recommend Phillips' School of Massage in Nevada City, CA highly enough!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't need to go to college for this!.

DO IT!!

By the time you go back for your 20th class reunion, you might already be retired while your high school classmates are still working!.

I wish I would have started earlier in my life!. And if I were you, after you get licensed, look into working on Cruise ship!. You will get to travel the world and will be able to save money!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The massage school will give you the information on acedemic requirements!. However a highschool graduate should have no problems doing the work!. Good luck and don't totally give up on going to college to continue your other interests!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
