Is there something I can put on my skin before swimming to protect it from absor!

Question: Is there something I can put on my skin before swimming to protect it from absorbing chlorine!? !?
I have lupus and am very chemically sensitive!. I recently read that when you take baths or swim in pools your body actually absorbs the chlorine!. Is there some way to keep my body from absorbing chlorine, like putting almond oil, emu oil, or some type of lotion on!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The best way is to rinse your hair and body in purified water beforehand!.

If you're taking a bath or shower, invest in a shower filter that takes out the chlorine!. They're only around $50!.

If you're going into a pool, shower beforehand, so your body will absorb the water into your skin and hair!. Once you go into the pool, since your skin and hair are already filled with water, it will not absorb as much of the chlorinated water!.

Other than that, anything else will wash off once you go into a bath or pool!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you thought of maybe trying lanolin!? I believe it creates a barrier on the skin that might make it more difficult for things like chlorine to pass through!.

I'm not claiming it works, as I have never tried lanolin for this purpose; you might want to read up more on it!. But keep in mind, even if it did work, you'd have to cover every inch of your body with it, even your scalp, soles of your feet, etc!. I can't see that it would be very practical or even pleasant to be greased up with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
