I've never taken cayenne pepper but the Echinacea Goldenseal I have has cayenne pepper in the blend!. I can tell it's there but it's not bad (probably doesn't contain alot)!. The Echinacea Goldenseal works really fast and we also gargle with salt water for a sore throat!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have not heard of that process!. However for a sore throat gargle with some Oil of Oregano!. Take some oil of oregano internally and see how that throat will become one of the best healed, ever!.

I take cayenne pepper capsules for sore throats and it works very well for me!.
Just be careful that you don't have a sensitive tummy to spicy things!. I've had great success with using cayenne and honey to soothe my coughs too!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
