Question: Are There Any Supplements That Can Help When Stopping Birth Control Pills!?
I've decided to stop taking birth control pills after 7 years of taking them without a break!. I'm wondering if there are any supplements that I could take to make the change a bit easier!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, actually, there are several herbs and natural products that can help to balance out hormones, which may help from the "after effects" from getting off the pill!. The most popular natural products for hormone support would be Dong Quai, Black Cohosh, Vitex (also called Chasteberry), Wild Yam, Damiana Leaf, Motherwort, GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid, commonly in Borage Oil and Evening Primrose Oil), and some Soy germ products!.
Good luck!

Basically when you quit using birth control (especially after so long), your body goes into hormone over production!. For at least a month (possibly up to 6 months), you'll feel horrible!. Your body even "feels pregnant" because you'll have wacky (missed or extra) periods, nausea, vomiting, headaches, extreme mood swings, breast tenderness, etc!. Unfortunately, you just have to let it run its course!. There are some things that might make it easier, but nothing will make these symptoms not happen at all!. Completely finish the pack that you're on-- never stop mid-pack (take it from my personal experience)!. You can take evening primrose oil and St!. John's Wort to help with the moodyness!. Vitamin E will help with the breast tenderness!. And going on an ibuprophen regiment for a month or so should help with the cramps!.

You should also expect to have a very long, bloody period when you first come off the pill!.

In addition: search for some questions others have posted about coming off the pill!. Everyone who answered your question (except me) said they had no symptoms!. That seems highly unusual to me!. Every woman I know and myself have all had horrible experiences with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!. Just wanted to let you know that i just stopped the pill after taking it for 15 years and had absolutely no problems!. I was scared to death that i would have all sorts of problems after taking the pill for that long, and i actually felt better after i stopped taking them!. Any reactions you are likely to have probably can't be helped by vitamins, as they will be hormonal, and your body will just have to adjust!. I really hope you have the same outcome that i experienced ( a lot of my friends had no problems also )!. Good luck, hope it all goes well for you :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

My wife was on the pill for 8 years and did not experience any major symptoms when coming off, certainly nothing like the gloom and doom predictions of the previous answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
