The typical pickle you buy off the grocer's shelf has no probiotic content!. Lacto-fermented pickles, on the other hand, are rich in both probiotics and live enzymes!. Problem is !.!.!. it's difficult to find a source to buy lacto-fermented vegetables!. I make my own!. If you are interested in doing so yourself, get a copy of the book "Nourishing Traditions"!. It has a chapter that covers the benefits of lacto-fermentation, as well as the how-to of the process, and numerous recipes!.
When it comes to yogurt!.!.!.not all brands are created equal!. Most brands you find in conventional stores fall short of being truly healthy with ingredients such as corn syrup or corn syrup solids!. If you go with a sugar free version, then you're taking in aspartame, not a good alternative!. They also typically only have lactobacillus acidophilus as an active culture!. Look for your yogurt at a health food store (or in the health food section of any grocer that has one), the brands you find there typically have three different strands of active culture!. Better yet, try kefir!. It is similiar in taste to yogurt, but has an impressive ten active live cultures!.
There is a supplement called Primal Defense that is reportedly very good for those with Crohn's Disease!. It is a probiotic blend that has what they call 'soil based micro-organisms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, they don't!. You can, however, check out your local health food store for something called Kefir (pronounced KEY-fir)!. It is a fermented & cultured type of yogurt, but it is drinkable & slightly tart!. It is between 7 to 10 times more healthy than yogurt!. If you try it out!? Don't get the plain!! Other flavors usually include blueberry, strawberry, raspberry & peach, along with the plain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, pickles do not contain the same good bacteria as yogurt!. There are now some cheeses that contain the good bacteria, as well as there are now some cereals that contain what you are looking for!. The Kashi brand is one to look for!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
