My advice is that you consult a mental health professional immediately!. You shouldn't worry about being judged for what you've been doing - a mental health professional's job is to make sure that you are safe!. Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is a Class II stimulant that can have serious side effects; however it has been proven safe and effective in patients to whom it is prescribed!. Your mental health professional can decide if it would be beneficial for you!. Something to keep in mind is that lack of concentration can be caused by a variety of things - including depression, mania and anxiety!. My biggest concern regards your feelings of dependence on the drug!. It may be necessary for you to seek treatment!. If you are enrolled at a public or private college or university you may have access to free counseling!. I urge you to find out if that is the case!. If not, many municipalities offer these services to their citizens free of charge!. Please do not wait until this problem is out of your control!. Seek help now and do not be afraid of being judged! Good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm no doctor!.!.!.which you should do see by the way, for you depression and this ritalin problem!. if you're sensing a dependency then you should stop, and i'm sure taking energy drinks with it don't help in the long term healthwise!. now, you might actually have ADD or something, b/c most people who take it without needing it actually don't tune in they become more "scatter-brained" (having the opposite wanted effect for them, which like you is usually to try and study)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was shocked to read that, you should try to stop that your health is much more important that you exams, and that drug is dangerous it can lead to addiction, try to reduce the dose or call the toxic center in your city, don't be afraid they will help you!.
this drug is not used at all as an over the counter drug!.

I am afraid you have behaved like a fool!. This is a dangerous controlled drug for very good reasons and now your problems are inevitably coming home to roost! Go see your GP and get him to put you in touch with the local Community Addiction Team before things get much worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I reckon you should read a book called
More Now Again by an author called Elizabeth Wurtzel
That should tell you everything you need to know about ritalinWww@Answer-Health@Com

The straight answer is Ritalin or Methyphenidate is primarily used to treat ADD, its a stimulant and can be habit forming, it has many side effects and can be life threatening if used wrongly!. I am amazed that you say your mum gets it for you without it being prescribed!. I am an ex drug counsellor so have first hand experience on what drugs can do, if you are now feeling you are becoming dependant on it then its time to stop!. If as you say you have studied it then you will already know what the down falls are!. The choice is yours!. I
