Why don't pills really effect me?!

Question: Why don't pills really effect me!?
I have Insomnia- Pretty bad!.!.The most sleep I get a night is about 2-3 hours, 4 if I'm lucky!.!. Anyways I've started taking Benedryls- which I thought would make me feel tired and go to sleep- but they didn't work, I felt no difference taking them, Last night I took some Tylenol PM wich did nothing for me either- Except when I woke up- this morning after taking them before bed, I felt really wierd- I was all wobbly and falling over and it felt like I was swimming through air- yeah pretty messed up!.!. I did notice when I took the Tylenol that I became more sensitive to pain!.!.Why aren't any pills having any effect on me!? I take the maximum dose, still nothing!.!. Should I get on some sleeping pills or something!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I found that benadryl takes like an hour to fully kick in, and i'm guessing they effect people differently, but they knock me out!.

Tylenol PM may be the same as benadryl but may contain, something a little stronger!.

I took prescription sleep pills but I don't notice any difference between benadryl but some of them work allot faster!. Over the counter sleeping pills would be the same ingredient in benadryl or Tylenol PM!.

No, get rid of pills!.
Relax!. Don't drink cofee or tea with caffeine!. Go to bed at the same time every day!. Take a warm shower before you go to bed!. Two hours before you go to be don't watch TV, better read some book!. Don't eat later than 5 pm, it's hard to fall asleep when you are full!. Warm glass of milk with honey will help too!. If worse come to worse you may temporaraly take Valeria pills, it's an herb sold in the health stores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have insomnia too so I know where your coming from!.!.
The thing with benedryl is that you develop a tolerance to it quite easily!.!.!. where you need to take more and more of it and it eventually looses its effectiveness all together!. By the way!.!.!. the only reason Tylenol PM makes people sleepy is because it ALSO has diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in its formulation!. The drug makers include that ingredient in there just as an added benefit of inducing sleep so they could market it as "PM" so people already taking it for pain may get to sleep easier!. Diphenhydramine is also the main ingredient in most of the other over-the-counter sleep aids, like UniSom, for example!. So if you're already taking multiple benadryls and they aren't helping - then none of the diphenhydramine containing sleep aids are going to help you sleep!.

Try Melatonin 5mg instead!. This you can find over the counter in the vitamins/supplements section of any grocery store!. Melatonin is the chemical your body naturally produces when it is in the dark and is responsible for making you sleepy at night!. Try starting with 1 tablet about 30min before you need to be in bed!. It is MUCH more effective than benadryl - which is just an antihistamine with the side effect of sedation!.
If that doesn't help, then you should consider making an appointment with a sleep doctor and he will counsel you on how to make adjustments in your life to reduce insomnia and/or prescribe you a more powerful sleep aid - but be careful these have more side effects and most of them are addictive!.

Take it easy, hope you get some sleep soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com
