How can I become more motivated.?!

Question: How can I become more motivated!.!?
I've just started college and frankly it's pathetic!.
In my GCSE's i got average grades (7 B's, 2 C's) and that was a struggle because I was stubborn!. I grew to resent school work and anything thats linked to it, as such I found myself falling behind and no real will to try and catch up!.
I've started college because I feel it's what my parents want, for me to get a good job and earn a decent living, but I still find it just as tedious and depressing as high school!.

My problem is a serious lack of motivation and I have no idea where this stems from!. I have no positive reenforcement and every time someone tells me "well done" (which doesn't happen often) It feels like they're being patronizing!.
Is there any way I can become more motivated, can anyone think of anything!? I'm at my wits end and if this year goes badly I'm dropping out!.
I don't appreciate generic things like "get more sleep etc!." because that makes absolutely no difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Y'know, I had exactly the same problem in college!. I never liked homework, and I haven't really liked working hard in school since around 3rd grade (or in the classes that made it fun, but that's a different story)!. I had all sorts of problems with classes in college that required homework (and I rather resented those classes as well)!. Heck, I even went to college because that's what I thought I was supposed to do and it felt just like high school (but harder), so I know where you're coming from!.

Unless you find a reason for yourself to stay there and work hard, you won't!. That's just a natural fact of human behavior!.!.!. if you don't want to do something, you'll hate it the more you do it!.
What I ended up doing was taking a break (forcibly, though, because my financial aid was declined) and found out what *I* wanted!. I got a full time job (at a gas station was all I could get at first) and I thought about what I wanted to do with my life, not what other people wanted me to do!.
As it turned out, it was a good thing for me that my financial aid was declined because it helped me find out that I enjoy customer service positions and I think I would have been miserable with my degree because I wouldn't have been interacting with people!. It took me some time, but I am MUCH happier doing what I do now than I ever was in college and there's no degree for customer service!. I might go back to college eventually to advance my career if something came up down the line, but I don't see a reason right now!.!.!. getting a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field wouldn't affect my salary, so it's not a priority!.

Decide what you would like in your life and you will be the happiest with your life!.!.!. it's not Mom and Dad's life!.!.!. it's not your teacher's lives!.!.!. you're the one that needs to live with it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think your just don't have a piece of mind in something and somethings are keeping you from achieving a goal!. I too had that kind of problem back then!. All i did was to clear all my mind of all things that keep me from doing my goal!.

Figure out first where the lack of motivation stems from, are you not motivated because you're unsure of your path!? Do you not like feeling like a sheep in a herd!? Do you dislike teachers or other authority figures!? If you don't know what's keeping you from being motivated then you can't work around it!. Also find what does motivate you!. Obviously positive reinforcement is not going to be on that list as you don't feel it's sincere!. Also, don't let letter grades get you down, it's honestly more about what you take from a class than what your grades are!. If you get an A but learn nothing, would you not feel disappointed then as well!? Start looking at work as finding something out and learning for yourself instead of doing work for someone else!. This may be hard, and it may not even help you, but you might want to try it just to see how you react to it!. Does it make the work less tedious, does it frustrate you more!?

I think mainly you should take a big step back, ask yourself what you want out of life!. For some people getting a college education isn't the answer!. I've always felt that "furthering your education" is something that has to be done for yourself and no one else!. Doing it because you feel someone else expects it from you can lead to resentment and it can set you up for failure!. The fact that you're giving it a try is good enough, if you don't want to continue and you can figure out something else to do that is more what YOU want, go for it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
