Medicine that works on a rat does not necessarily have the same result in a human, therein lies the very real danger!.
Here are some examples, if a human drinks strycnine they would die straight away but if a dog has it it has no affect whatsover!. The dog would not even become ill!.
And look this up on wikipedia - thalidomide!.
That was a major tragedy!. They tested the drug thalidomide on animals & it was safe for them, but when pregnant women took it they all had severely deformed babies!. This happened all over the Western world!.
Also animal research is unethical & barbaric (particularly as the animals are not usually under anaethetic while undergoing painful experimentation, presumably because it's too expensive!?)!. Only Switzerland has banned it!. They can just as easily research on human skin cells, etc under a microscope, so don't require animals anyway!.
I don't even want to think about what they do to animals in laboratories!. It makes me feel physically ill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the ethical issues of using other life forms for our purposes!. however if you are a meat eater, you have already made that moral choice!.
