Is it ok to drink alcohol while sick?!

Question: Is it ok to drink alcohol while sick!?
I'm sick!. I have a sore, swollen throat, and a cough that has my throat all blocked up in addition!. To me, it seems like a great idea to down just a shot of vodka!. It would feel like liquid icy-hot in my throat, could increase blood flow to the area, and could kill the bacteria in the sores in my throat (maybe yes!?)!. Thus seeing as there's alcohol in nyquil and all, are there any negative affects to taking a shot of vodka while ill!?

BTW i am taking no medication so don't warn me against combining alcohol and pain killers!.

Go for it, you will feel better and it does help the healing process!. My Irish father always said!.!.!.!." A shot a day keeps the body healthy"!.lol!. It's true!.!.!.i cannot recall last time i was sick!.lol!. Hope you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. Alcohol is dehydrating and when you are sick you need fluids to increase blood flow!. The vodka won't kill the bacteria anyway- the bacteria is stronger than the vodka!.
Think about the morning after you drink!. You wake up w/ cotton mouth (dry mouth) a sure sign of dehydration!.
Fluids, fluids, fluids that is what you need!. Try sprite or 7-up (you need the glucose, sugar, also)!. If you want something cold try Popsicles!.
The alcohol in Nyquil only is there to make you sleep ( another side effect of alcohol) which your body also needs to heal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. Go for it!. Drink mad shots, maybe a 40 oz perhaps!. Your throat will feel better, you'll be ripped and then probably go to sleep!. Don't drink too much and throw up!. That will make your throat hurt a looot more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do not take alcohol,
it will not only dehydrate you but make you more vulnerable to the disease!. Then it may give temp relief but that you may not be looking for!.
