Does hypnosis really help you quit smoking?!

Question: Does hypnosis really help you quit smoking!?
And how would go about finding a legit hypnotherapist anyway!? How much do they cost!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hypnosis is about getting access to your unconscious mind to find the resources you need to quite within you!. See, our habits are habits, because we do not think about them!. You seldom smoke consciously, drive consciously, or even shake hands consciously!. These behaviours are stored somewhere else!.

So, if you truly want to quite, hypnosis can be incredibly effective in helping you to overcome the two aspects of smoking:
-addiction to nicotine
-the habit

The addiction is usually the easy part, what really needs work is the habit in and by itself!. Ask yourself: what do you get out of smoking!? What does it give you or allow you to do!?!? I remember when I used to smoke, it was TIME!. You can always buy time with smoking, by simply saying:"I will grab a smoke and think about it!.!.!."

Now, about finding a good hypnotherapist - what is incredibly important is that you trust him or her!. If there is no trust, then don't go! Call one up, and talk to him/her for a little while to test the waters!. A good hypnotherapist should make you feel at ease and comfortable from "hello"!. If not, don't bother going!

Also, find out what type of hypnosis you prefer: Do you want to have someone who is very direct ("you feel sleepy, sleepy, oh so sleepy!.!.!.!." ) or more indirect!? I would recommend someone trained in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, those guys tend to get the best results!

Hypnosis works for people who strongly believe that it will work, and those are people usually who can easily be hypnotized!. As for locating one, you could ask your doctor if he knows anyone reputable or you could just look in the phone book!. I tried it once but it didn't work for me!. I'm not sure of the cost, I think it varies!.

You should talk with your doctor about your desire to stop smoking!. There are lots of products now that can help and greatly increase your chances of success!. First, there's nicotine replacement, and it comes in patches, gums, lozenges, which are all over the counter, and also nasal sprays and inhalers, which are prescription!. Then there's bupropion (which is Zyban, Wellbutrin, etc!.) which helps, although the exact mechanism is unknown!. The newest drug is varenicline (Chantix) which blocks the nicotine receptor sites in the brain making smoking much less pleasurable!. You and your doctor should discuss which combination of these would be best for you!. Also, whichever you choose, it's likely to be more successful when combined with a stop smoking program or counsilor!. In the US, you can call 1-800-QUITNOW to get your state's stop smoking line, and they are a great help!.

Congratulations on your desire to quit, that's the first step!. Don't get discouraged if it takes you more than a few tries!. Most people try several times before they're able to quit for good!. The most important thing is that you keep trying!.

Good luck, hope this helped a little!.!.!.

With a hypnotherapist smoking problem usually is solved in two sessions or not solved at all!. I never heard about someone treating smoking in self-hypnosis!. Even people with the highest hypnotability abilities (meaning they can they can be hypnotized to forget things, unlike most of us) sometimes don't know to use these abilities until treated by a professional hypnotist!. However there are good ebooks on self hypnosis which you can find in http://eHypnoticTrance!.com
good luck,
