Don't know about an immediate solution!. I heard a lotion-based extract of Lemon Balm can have immediate effects!. But I can tell you that licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) will irreversibly inactivate herpes virus particles!. If you take it over time you might never see a cold sore again! Just make sure you get real licorice, the herb, and not the artificial licorice sticks you get at grocery stores!. You can get real licorice at herb shops, or at natural health food stores!. You can order it online if you can't find a shop near you!.
