Question: What do you know of Reiki Therapy!?
I have a friend who does Reiki hollistic therapy!. To those of you who know what it is, what is your take on it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is one of many "energy/spiritual" healing philosophies!. It is a kind of "vitalism" as it purports a universal life energy called ki!. It has a lot in common with things like Therapeutic Touch, the classic religious laying on of hands, the even more classic Kingly laying on of hands, as well as Wiccan healing rituals!.
There is no evidence of ki (or chi or qi or prana) and no evidence Reiki masters can manipulate the undetectable energy in any measurable ways!. Its "healing" powers depend on the placebo response for the most part!. It is about as effective as your mom saying "there there" and patting your head when you were a little kid with a scraped knee, and for the same reasons!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If there is something in it I am alarmed at how easily and quickly it seems to be able to qualify to become a Reiki master!.
