As a certified massage therapist, I find many of the videos on youtube informational and instructional!. Anything by massagenerd!.com is good and many of their videos are on youtube!. If you have learned your basic massage strokes, then to make it therapeutic, you just go slower and deeper and more concentrated!. Ice and heat packs help it become more therapeutic instead of spa-like!. But like the other poster stated, you really need to check with your state regulations if you are going to practice as a massage therapist!. Most states won't certify you just because you are a registered nurse!. However, if your state, like Michigan, does not require anything on the books, then you are okay!. But since most states are going toward certification, you really need to get some schooling behind you!. You just need to be insured irregardless if you are a hired employee or not!. And that is where you need some schooling behind you!. You can also check out Erik Dalton, especially if you need therapeutic massage!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your first step should be to check with your state licensing board!.

It could cost you your nursing license if you are in violation of the license!.

Each state is different!.

I was a licensed in nursing in the state of Florida!. I received national certification via in person exam!. When I went to make sure it was ok to practice, Florida stated that nursing license and national message certification did not allow doing massage in the state of Florida!.

They required taking a formal program within the state of Florida!.

Employers are not interested in your long term ability to be licensed!. They want you to do the job that they want!.

You are the one that can lose out in the long run!.
