Question: I am taking St Johns Wort and want to go for a few Alcoholic Drinks this Weekend!?
I understand from reading a lot of information that it is best to avoid drinking Alcahol whilst on St Johns Wort, Can you not just skip a Dose on the day you want a good drink!? and resume the next day!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you will be perfectly ok having a few drinks as I don't think there are any physical side affects to combining the two!.
St Johns Wart is only supposed to be taken if you are feeling particularly low or going through a 'episode' so to speak, it is not a replacement for antidepressants, so the reason you are advised not to drink whilst on St Johns Wort is because alcohol is a depressant it could potentially have disastrous effects if you are depressed anyway!.
If you feel ok in yourself and trust that you will be in the company of people who know you well then I see no harm in having a few drinks!. I would also look into reviewing how much you take St John Wort!.

No, you should not do that!. It takes a few days for the St!. John's Wort to be worked out of your system enough that you wouldn't have the negative reaction!. You were right to ask the question, but for safety sake, you should wait a good week or so after stopping St!. John's Wort before you drink any significant amount of alcohol!. The two would have an adverse effect on your nervous system that you really wouldn't want!.
However, once you're off of it for a week or so, you could drink within moderation (as normal), then start the St!. John's Wort up again a day or two after your last drink (to make sure the alcohol is out of your system first)!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Been taking St John's Wort for about 5 years now and I had no idea you had to avoid alcohol!.!.!.!.!.!.I go out every weekend and I've never been bad (apart from the odd hangover!) :o)
