My grandma called me yesterday and ?!

Question: My grandma called me yesterday and !?
asked me if she could have some of my vicodin!. I had surgery a few weeks ago and she was there when they were prescribed to me nd I also have another prescription for some nerve problems I have been having!. I kinda tried to change the story because she is a hypochondriac!. If you looked in her medicine cabinet you would think she was a pharmacist!. What should I say to her!? I dont want to give her any because I really dont want anything to happen to her!. She has always been like a mother to me and I dont want to feel like I am letting her down!. Advice on letting her down easy!? Oh she also claims she has a refill left on hers and just doesnt want to pay her prescription co-pay!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can afford to Honey!.!.!.tell her you will Pay her Co-pay and get her Meds for her!.!.!.if she says No!.!.!.I just want some of yours!.!.!.then you'll KNOW she has a Problem with Rx Medication!. And I wouldn't give her any!. Tell her you are willing to take her to the Doctor if she needs Medicine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My MIL called her son (my BIL) and asked if he can find some coke for her friend!. He told her no because he knew it wasn't for her friend, it was for her!. What kind of mother asks her kids for drugs!?

Anyways, just tell her that you really don't feel comfortable giving out your prescription because it isn't legal!. Also let her know that if she has a legitimate prescription and needs help paying for it, that you could help her out with that!. That way you won't be hurting her feelings, but won't be giving her drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My grandmother was taking her brother's pain meds after the doctor cut her dosage (due to developing kidney problems that made the higher dose inadvisable)!. Yeah, hooked!.

Sometimes you just need to call her doctor -- he won't tell you anything about what he's doing or what she needs, but you CAN tell him and he WILL keep it confidential!. Be sure you talk to the doctor about the problem itself and not to the office staff!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That really sucks for you to be put into that position!. I would tell her that you don't have anymore, but offer to help her with the copay!. If she takes $10 from you with a baby and all, then she might really not have the money for her own copay, but don't give her your prescription!. You won't forgive yourself if something happens!. NEVER give your prescriptions to another person!. It is so dangerous!. It could interact with something she is on!. If something happened to her you would be responsible!. Tell her you can't give it to her because you love her too much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
