Answers:
It is FAR better to use herbal medicines prescribed by a trained practitioner combined with dietary changes and proper rest, nutrition, and exercise to treat pathologies than it is to just pop a pharmaceutical that will make war on your body's natural workings while continuing to eat and behave in a way that is destroying your body!.

There are some bacterial infections that require pharmaceutical drugs and some medical conditions that once caused must be treated with pharmaceuticals!. However, it is far better to prevent disease than to try to cure it after it is caused!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on the situation!. If you have a bacterial infection that could be easily removed with a pharmaceutical medication, a chemical based product is preferable- as it would rid the body of infectious bacteria with more efficiency!. However, chemical based medications can cause more side effects!. Chemicals are hard on the body and some, after prolonged use, loose part of their potency!. When targeting overall health, lifestyle changes (in regard to diet, exercise, and sleep habits) as well as herbal supplements are more effective, as side effects are minimal and prolonged use only aids a greater vitality!.

It's all about preference!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends a lot on what medical condition you are talking about!. Obviously, if you get hit by a car, you will want to be treated by a physician in a hospital, not an herbalist!. Many viral and bacterial infections respond better to chemically based meds than to herbs!.

To me, the issue is not chemicals vs!. herbs!. It is what works best in a given situation!. I suffered for many years from major depression!. I tried everything that alternative medicine offered including acupuncture, nutrition, herbs, etc!. I also exercised 5 to 7 days a week and meditated!. Nothing helped very much, so I am doing much better now on antidepressant medication!.

Again, the issue is what type of treatment works best for an illness!. Personally, I would rather go to an herbalist than a regular MD, but sometimes an MD can offer better results!. Sometimes, an herbalist can provide better results!. Besides herbs, he/she might be able to suggest nutritional guidance!.

Finally, both alternative and traditional medicine have their strengths and weaknesses!. It is not an either/or situation!. If you see an herbalist, it doesn't mean you can't see a regular doctor too!. In the future, I hope that herbalists and traditional MDs can join together to offer the best of both worlds!. Herbal medicines are just chemicals in an unprocessed form!. After all, what are chemicals but another word for "stuff made up of atoms" right!?

If you ask me, something that has been studied extensively, works, purified and isolated, and is prescribed by a professional who knows its effects, safety profile, and side effects is by far safer than grass, leaves or roots that have been pureed or juiced and has no studies done and has an unknown safety profile and has evidence supported only by anecdotes and testimonials!.

what makes something a medical treatment is not weather its "chemical based" or herbal based"(your body responds to chemicals weather they are in pill form or food form if your drinking tea you are still taking chemicals) testable results makes something a medical treatment, so what you are really asking is:

which is better, a treatment based on evidence or a treatment based on wishful thinking!? well you can either wish for a pay check or you can earn a paycheck, which action will get you a pay check faster!?

and to suggest that only chemical medicine(a misnomer) has side effects is naive, everything has side effects and everything is toxic given the right dosage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
