Massage injury help pls?!

Question: Massage injury help pls!?
I got a back massage yesterday at a local mall and while the therapist there was a bit too heavy on the pressure on my upper back, it felt all right!. When he proceeded to the other side and applied the same pressure, I promptly asked him to reduce it and he complied!. I left there feeling a little sore but otherwise OK, however, when I awoke this morning, my upper back area was swollen and very painful!. I've had deep tissue massages before and been a little sore afterward, but not this time!. Any ideas on what I can do to help the swelling and pain (besides ice and medications)!? Obviously I won't return to that place, but has anyone else ever gotten injured by a massage!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You have to speak up in a massage and tell people what feels best because they can't feel what you feel!. I always tell my clients I can feel that it is tight but I can't feel how it feels to you!. The amount of pain you have today is more of a reflection of how tight the muscles are/were!.

Drink as much water as you can!. Take a bath in epsom salt!. Stretch!. Go and get another massage but be sure to tell them to use lighter pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ice and ibuprofen should be enough!. You should go back to that place and verify that the "therapist" is complying with state and local licensing laws!. Many mall massage places don't!. If he is not properly licensed report him to the state and /or local health dept!. as well as mall management, they might be responsible for injuries if he's not licensed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might want to get an x-ray!.!. Or go to your doctor for a muscle relaxer!.!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
