Ruptured Disk Hitting Nerve Root Heal Naturally?!

Question: Ruptured Disk Hitting Nerve Root Heal Naturally!?
Please help!. I am 31 and the mother of two!. I am seeing an Orthopedic-who of course wants to do cortisone injections and a chiropractor-my upper body is slanted right now due to injury!. But I was wondering though all of this absolute debilitating pain if this ruptured disk (L4/L5) hitting the nerve root will heal on its own and maybe I will be able to walk again!. I seriously can't take this anymore but I really don't want anymore stinging pain from the injections and the after effects!. Terrified!. I was healthy and fine and then slipped on my wonderful in-laws tile floor and now I am probably hurting for life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Much of your question depends on the condition of your back prior to the fall!. You are young and that is very much in your favor!. But the disk may have been weakened and the fall was simply the final straw!. So I assume you are in good health otherwise, so a conservative approach is a logical one!. The cortisone shots are to reduce the inflammation to the nerve roots that the disc is causing, how many have you had, did they help!? If they do and the chiropractic care helps there is a good chance that the disc will shrink over time!. The question is can you put up with the pain until it does, if not then surgery will be your only answer!. If I were you, I would put up for a while and see how it does!. You did not state in your question how long ago this happened so I am answering based on a recent injury!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree!. it probably will not heal on it's own but surgery will get the disk off the spine and help!. I have not Had the surgery because I am old but I do get the shots!. they do help gain most mobility without hurting,!. Simple stretch exercises do help me!. (The shots never hurt either, they numb it and i haven't hurt yet!. i have had 8 different ones over the years for other things)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Like almost every injury, given enough time and the right therapy a disc hernia usually completely heals within a year or two!.
It's good that you're going to a chiropractor - that's one of your best chances!.
Don't let them give you too many injections as they can cause bone loss!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

chances are it will not heal naturally!. there are tons of different cures for a ruptured disk(surgical and non surgical) that you should consider with your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi

I am not sure when this was posted!. I was googling trying to find out answers on this condition!. My partner is currently in hospital with severe pain after collapsing with exactly the same condition!. He is due to have surgery next week!. I have so many questions but still trying to make contact with the doctors so I can ask them!.

He had an accident at work 2 years ago and this is a result of this accident!. He was sore before christmas and with physio and hydrotherapy and strong medication he was able to overcome it but about a week ago it went again this time not being able to walk or sit!.

I hope the surgery works and there are not complications for it!. I suggest go see your doctor, physio and work on it every day and then see a neurosurgeon as they will tell you exactly what to do!. My step mum had the same surgery about a year ago and has never looked back!. She says it has changed her life!.

Goodluck!. I hope you feel better soonWww@Answer-Health@Com
