Question: Who is a Massage Therapist!?
I just need your feed back on what you think about your choice of career in hopes to incourage me in my decision of becoming a Massage Therapist!. I've gone to school for Pharmacy Tech and now I think it was a waist of time because nobody is hiring and the pay is low!.!.!.I'm disappointed about my student loan I have to pay for because of my choice!. But I'm noticing how many people are wanting or needing massages and now I'm thinking of going back to school for it!. But I need to know if it really is a good in demand career!.
Oh and how would I know if I'm able to get another student loan!? I've filed for hardship in 2007 and now i'm paying a little more than my minimum amount of my loan every month on time!. FYIWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not a massage therapist!.!.!. yet!. I'm starting school for it in september!. I chose massage therapy because I want to build on it with Reiki and Reflexology to build a holistic health practise!. I want to work in an environment where I am helping people instead of making rich companies richer!. It is a low stress job where I would feel like I am making a difference in the world!.

I'm starting a three year program at Algonquin which I am SO excited about!.

You will probably find the same thing in the massage profession!. The jobs are low paying and spas etc take advantage of massage therapists!. Most massage therapists start their own business which makes it much more lucrative and rewarding!.

The site mentioned by another post here www!.massagetherapycareers!.com is not good information!. I used to actually own that site and the new owners are making it into just a sales page for massage schools!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Massage therapy is a good career if you are able to be patient when you start (it takes about 2 years to build up a really good client base) and if you're prepared to handle the really down times!.!.!.like now in this bad economy!.
I love being an LMT!.!.!.but it hasn't been easy!. I am very lucky to have a supportive husband and also lucky to have a business degree and be able to market myself really well!Www@Answer-Health@Com
