Question: CAN YOU OVER DOSE!.!.get sick from IBUPROFEN 600mg!?!?!? !?
Hi,

I had my FOUR wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, and man am I in pain!. They had to use a scalpel on the lower sides of my cheeks to take the teeth out that way
Answers:
You most certainly can!. While the dose your taking may not be deadly for a couple of times, it may very well be if you keep this up!. At the least, you're damaging you liver and opening yourself up to other side effects!.!.!.muscle aches and pains, capillary bleeding, etc!. You just had surgery so, of course, your pain is intense!. The doctor gave you something to ease the pain to tolerable levels while you heal!. Nothing short of an intravenous pain medication will safely take away all the pain, which is what you seem to be trying to do!. Lower to dose back to what the doc prescribed and call him!. Perhaps he can prescribe something a bit stronger so you won't need to take so much!. Four wisdoms! I feel for you!. Get better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can overdose on ibuprofen!. I think there may be a strategy whereby you can take a couple tylenol as the ibuprofen is wearing off to get you thru those 2 hours, but I don't remember the details, because I heard about it a long time ago, so you have to ask the dentist if that is OK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

using more than directed could cause kidney damage as with anything that is similar!. i am surprised he prescrbed that!. dentists usually prescribe vicodin after people get their teeth pulled!. they are stronger and you would only need one pill every 4 hrs or so!. but the pain will subside in a few days and you will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe the most you should get is around 1600-1800mg a day (the strongest tablet is aorund 800mg and you can take that twice a day)!.

The side-effects of overdosing should be written in the instruction paper/booklet that came inside the package of the IbuProfen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ibuprofen can cause substantial liver damage when taken in large amounts, and you can also become dependent on them if your taking that many at once!. Stick with the amount of doses that was reccommended by your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had to take that for a while also!. Yes, you can overdo it and your liver will not thank you for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have taken a lot more than that and it never bothered me, but I am a big guy!. Just be careful and work up to it!. If you start feeling funny because of it, quit!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may be able to use Tylenol when you have reached your daily limit on ibuprofen, but too much Tylenol can cause serious damage!.
Just phone your pharmacy and ask them!. They will tell you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I took 1200 MG every 3 -4 hours for 24 hours until I could get to a hospital with a serious painful infection!.!.!.
No problems occurredWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can you are only aloud 2400 mg a day!. your body wont be able to break it down and can cause problems with your liver!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can OD on any medicine!Www@Answer-Health@Com

no u cant tablets can come in 800 milligrams and iv taken 2 of those at a time so no!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you can't, at least not in that amount!. What I recommend is take the ibuprofen, then 3 hours later take tylenol, then 3 hours later take the ibuprofen!. Bear in mind that none of these medications is hazardous to your health, but they are medications, so there are limits to what you can take!. The doctor recommended me and my wife to alternate these two medications when we have to give the to our daughter, and the effect starts to wear off too soon!. So if it works for her, it should work for you!. One more thing, 600mg is a small dosage, I usually take 1000mg, or 1g( same thing) do if you're taking 3 tablets, that's 1!.8g, or 1800mg, it's not a lot, if you're over 16 I think you can take it, no problem!. But I would alternate with 1500mg of Tylenol every 3 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can!. I agree with most of the other posters, call your doctor to prescribe you a stronger, different med!. Just because someone else is doing OK with a stronger dose does not mean you can (and vice versa)!. your age, gender and weight/height as well as your general health and specific conditions all play a part in the finer details of how well your body can tolerate a medicine!. My worry is that a painkiller like Ibuprofen should not knock you out!. If you were falling asleep from exhaustion alone (i!.e!. your body is going for it as soon as the pain subsides to allow it to) then I don't think you would wake up so quickly (and it be only a nap) especially with a painfree spell of a few hours!. So the stuff might be overpowering your system in some way that really isn't good for you!.

On the other hand, I doubt you have taken so much that you have accumulated any lasting damage so far!. Just get some advice now, from your doctor, or a pharmacy, etc!. I hope they can give you something GOOD, because tooth pain is miserable, I know!.!.!. :/Www@Answer-Health@Com
