Colon Cleanses and Mucoid Plaque?!

Question: Colon Cleanses and Mucoid Plaque!?
I have been doing a lot of research on the so called "Mucoid Plaque" to find out how valid the claim is!. All the answers all seem so black and white!. We've got Doctors on both sides of the spectrum!. Some argue that there is mucoid plaque and that it is very dangerous to have inside of us while others totally dismiss any possibility of it!. It seems like either way, someone is trying to make money off of us!. I really want to know what people think and if there are any Doctors (Naturopath or Modern) out there that have any advice, input, etc!. I am thinking about doing a colon cleanse but keep reading about how dangerous these cleanses can be!. I have also heard from people who have the mucoid plaque without being on a cleanse or fiber, etc!. How does one explain that!? I am neutral right now, I just want more opinions before I decide to do a cleanse or not!. Logic tells me that mucoid plaque would exist in the "western diet", but I really have no idea!. Either way, is it best to take my chances by not having a cleanse or to be safe than sorry and go with a cleanse!?
(FYI, I eat really healthy and exercise regularly and find myself plugged up and bloated all the time!. I have tried everything short of a cleanse)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can find all the ingredents from a Colon Cleanse product in a regular store!. These are: ground flax seed, psyllium husk and (sometimes they include bentonite clay, walnut husk and pumkin seed, and other herbs but these aren't essential)!. So if you decide to do a cleanse, don't pay $100 for it!. Those are pure rip-offs and it's got about $10 worth of ingredients!.

It's pretty clear to me that all of the supposed "mucoid plaque" that comes out is just the stuff you are putting in with a cleanse, plus water!.

I also understand, from medical doctors, that most colons look pink and clean!. This whole idea of plaque build up is not completely right!.

That said, adding soluble fiber to your diet (which is basically what those cleanse programs do) has a lot of benefit!. Both conventional doctors and alternative medicine types can agree that it will reduce your cravings for junk food, boost your immunity, lower your blood pressure and improve your cholesterol levels, reduce your hemmorhoids, constipation, or IBS, and decrease your risk of certain types of cancers!.

So why not!.

Just don't get ripped off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The term mucoid plaque was invented by the sellers of the colon cleansers pills; there is no such actual medical condition!. These pills consist mainly of bentonite and psyllium, or guar gum and pectin!. either way these ingredients form a rubbery cast of your intestines when taken internally, mixed of course with whatever else your body is excreting!.
The only recorded instances of these "mucoid plaque" snakes in all of medical history come from the toilets of the victims of these cleansing pills!. No gastroenterologist has ever encountered one in tens of millions of endoscopies, and no pathologist has ever found one during an autopsy!. They do not exist until you take such a pill to form them!. The pill creates the very condition that it claims to cure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, for most people, the answer is "no" - for most people, you give them a single dose of of an ionic laxative (such as magnesium citrate, though there are many prescription laxatives which have replaced mag citrate that are given these days before procedures such as a colonoscopy) will be more than enough to clean out the bowels and intestines so that they can be seen "up close and personal" through an endoscope!.

However, there are a number of disorders or health challenges that can cause a person to have various intestinal problems, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, lupus, history of radiation treatment etc, are a few that leap to mind - there are many others as well!.

So the answer isn't simple, but for most people this isn't something that needs to be considered!. A diet high in fiber (meaning not just the 30 grams of fiber a day that are suggested, but over that amount) provides the physical "sweeping" action required to keep the intestinal tract healthy - fiber literally "pushes" things along, in addition to helping a process called peristalsis - which is the fluttering motion of the intestinal tract (you often hear it when you think your stomach is gurgling) - peristalsis by sheer motion keeps things moving, and helps prevent the body from recycling too much water from the stool (i!.e!. helps to prevent hard stools and constipation)

For most folks - a high fiber diet, one that is rich in whole grains, beans, and includes fruits and veggies from all colors of the rainbow (preferably a couple servings each time you sit down to eat) will A) work wonders to improving over all health and B) improve bowel regularity - which doesn't necessarily mean several (or even one) bowel movement per day!. A pretty certain way to know you have "regularity" is the question "do you have to strain to go" if the answer is no (and you dont have diarhea) Then you are probably doing alright!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
