What exactly is SAMe and does it work?!
Question: What exactly is SAMe and does it work!?
I've heard of this but I'm not sure what it is!. I was just wondering if it's anything like St!. John's Wort, or if it is better/worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

SAMe is often used for depression as a natural remedy as is St John's Wort!. St John's is similar in action to an SSRI (typical prescription for some forms of depression) but doesn't work for everyone!. I like SAMe because it works on more neurotransmitters instead of just Serotonin!. I've used SAMe and really liked it!. It seemed to boost my energy in addition to my mood!. If you use it make sure you get one that has an enteric coating on the tablet!. This is important for good absorption!. It can be a little pricey and many sources suggest up to 1,000 mg a day!. I use TMG (trimethylglycine) to boost the SAMe in my body so I only have to use 400 mg of SAMe a day for great results!. The TMG is cheap so that helps, too! Both might be found in a health food store but I buy my online at Vitamin Shoppe!. FYI St John's Wort didn't work for me but some people swear by it!. Hope that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
