I can't afford a cushion!.

There isn't much to do about it!. I'm so sorry because I know it is agony!.
If the idiot doc wanted you to sit on a ring cushion, its just as well you can't afford it!. It is probably the worst thing for most people!. Those cushions should be banned! They increase pressure in a ring around your butt and can lead to hemmoroids as well!. Same as sitting on a toilet seat all day!.
I'd take the pain killers and sit on as soft of a cushion as I could find!. Actually laying on one side or the other may help!. The type of doctor who specialises in bones are Orthopedic Doctors/Surgeons!. You could go and see one of them!.
